I'm afraid Fallout is merely a name for a vision brought forth through a group of guys at Black Isle. I predict the future Fallout's will suffer the same fate Zelda had when Nintendo sold it's rights to the CDi project. You got a new Zelda game... it sucked, but you got a new Zelda game. I will stand corrected if some of the same guys at Black Isle are working on these new Fallout projects but somehow I don't think any of them are.
Kind of like how I noticed James Cameron had nothing to do with Terminator 3. Sure, I was watching Arnold shoot guns and follow the whole Terminator story in a movie but the visionary (Cameron) of the first two cinematic masterpieces were obviously not there. Same with Fallout.
But I still have hope...
Since this is Slashdot and coming from an IT perspective, I would have to argue that while i enjoy more daylight this time of year... The last two weeks in our IT department have been nothing short of miserable. Partly because of our aging hybrid, underfunded network and partly because of poor planning... I'll admit that.
I guess IMHO, I don't know all the pros and cons for DST. It's probably worth it but all I know is that switching the dates around isn't all that kind for people stuck working with older technology.
I love this quote " if IT decision-makers can get over their prejudice against equipment that's traditionally been aimed at consumers."
Yeah, as if thats the reason Macs have stayed in preschool classrooms and not in the enterprise arena. Maybe it's because back in the day, IT heads got wind of the lone IT director who tried to implement AppleTalk instead of IP and later committed suicide...
Everything about his article was purely opinion, which is fine but come on... It falls right in the quality of reviews that are found in High School newspapers with the (I think this product sucks because I don't like it.)
It's just to early to come to the "Seth Schiesel" conclusion. It takes awhile for the software to expose the hardware's full potential.
Yeah... I've always wanted a reason to convert to linux. If Microsoft does this then i'll finally have one. Subscription for OS?? What a horrible idea.
I wouldn't pay $350 for it. I wouldn't pay $250 for it. 175 or 200 maybe. I'd want to see what kind of a lineup they have as far as games coming out too and what they can do with it.
$350? I'd rather buy something else for that kind of money.
