Nah. Pratchett knows more about quantum theory, encoding raster images, communications thory and the pure math of human greed and stupidity than nearly anyone in say, Redmond Washington, fr example.
Catch some of the later novels in which young post grad Wizard, Ponder Stibbons coaxes HEX, the thinking machine in the new High Energy Magic building of Unseen University to think in partial bit clusters . . . then ponder.
An extremely, hilariously funny choice, but wierd? Nah!
