  1. a little late, slashdot! on Linux HiFi: The Sonos Digital Music System · · Score: 1

Man... this has to be the most out-of-date headline I've ever seen on Slashdot. On the other hand, the Sonos does rule; we've been testing it out at MP3.com with Rhapsody, and it works great. Of course, if you already have an amp and speakers that you like, it loses a little appeal... I'd like to see a thin client version too. -eliotvb

  2. Fix to the Rhapsody Install Problem on RealNetworks Invests in Legitimizing Free Music · · Score: 1
    Hey everyone,

I talked to Real's GM of Music Services and he told me how to fix the problem with Rhapsody To Go that prevents you from transferring the subscription tracks ($15 per month) onto your MP3 player. I posted it on MP3.com yesterday.

  3. Re:first mp3 cd player? on Collectors Snap Up Early MP3 Players · · Score: 1

Hi, I'm the guy who wrote the article in the post for CNET -- actually, the correct URL is here since I'm primarily employed by MP3.com now. I reviewed the Genica player... I believe it to be the first or one of the very first MP3 CD players. On the other hand, I doubt it would be as collectible, because it looks like a CD player, whereas these other devices are more representative of things to come. My thoughts exactly, DoorFrame... I wrote a story with the subtitle "I see my iPod and I want it painted black" (for a story on color-ware, which paints iPods in 20 different colors: http://www.mp3.com/story/feature_colorme.html -evb mp3.com

Hey, it's Eliot, the guy who writes the MP3 Insider column. I work at MP3.com now, which is a part of CNET, so these days my column appears there, and then on CNET and ZDNET.

Do you live in the Mission District of San Francisco? If so, that's probably my mail, even though I set up the forwarding. Damn postal service...
