Recently I recall/. was going to try out some sort of new CSS, right? I'm thinking this story is more proof that a new dupe filter needs to be developed before submissions are actually posted. What do you think?
I love how everyone is trying to point the finger at that one person everyone hates in the White House. It's funny to see that such a drastic move to take away from the people and give the greater of the people happen to be on the other side of the White House.
It seems traditionally that leftists, are more socialist and take what they think is what benefits the entire group. This doesn't surprise.
What does surprise me is that some people here seem to assume that someone is going to knock on your door and say, "get out, we're bulldozing in ten minutes."
I myself go either way in politics, but I feel this is a good move as it just reasserts eminent domain guaranteed in the Bill of Rights, that gives power to our leaders to open discussion on whether or not a low income slum area, should be bulldozed for pretty high rises. There is discussion first, and the people who are involved in the loss of land have some input when it becomes discussion. Jesus people, you make it seem like the government wants all of your land whenever they want. Stop reading conspiracy theory web sites.
An excellent quote sums up this decision by the court: "The needs of the many, outweigh the needs of the few, or one."
Oh my god, it's Germany 1943. I should fear Big Brother because I am a law abiding citizen (sarcasm).
I would have to agree. I don't understand why people are afraid of a national database where their info is exchanged. I honestly think if you have nothing to hide, why complain about it. Those who have something to hide, I would see why. I just assume that the majority here who do not comprehend the reasoning behind this passage of law are just jumping to conclusions and fearing that someone will knock on their door. Grow up and stop believeing your nerdy leftist friend across the street. No shadowy figure are going to come and knock down your door and stop you from doing whatever you do in the privacy of your own home. Big Brother just doesn't pick on anyone. Christ, just be a good citizen and you have nothing to fear. Or do you like being a pain in society's rear?
Whoever thinks cops will use this technology to "turn off" the cameras when beating someone, should seriously stop hitting the bong. I mean come on. Police have policies. It's not like we live in Germany 1943 people. Lay off the conspiracy theories and move out of your parent(s) basement.
Well, they are ordered to hand over documents, but they do have a discretion to use a black marker and mark out what they don't want to reveal. Little loophole in the Information Act.
One theory many have speculated is of course, Manchurian Candidate theory. I remember watching a documentary on Lennon and one reason as to why the governemnt would want him axed is because of Reagan. Don't get me wrong, I loved the man, but word has it, Chapman was trained to kill Lennon because Lennon was the only world renowned figure who could gather masses to rise against opression and the incoming government thought he might pose a threat to Reagan. It's all speculation right?
Even though it was ruled unconstituional, it is still a law. Courts interprit law. They cannot wipe a law off the books. This is left to the legislative process. So they can continue to use this portion of the Patriot Act, it just won't hold any water in court. Unless however, a higher court throws out the ruling this court made and then it will be enforceable again. But still, if you want that portion out, you have to write it out of the law books.
If I recall, doesn't MS have something that absolves them of any liability listed towards the end of the license agreement. Something along the lines of, "Do not use in mission critical places." Or was it more like do not install in missile silos or nuclear facilities, something like that right? Someone correct me. If I am right about the license agreement, that was stupid of LAX to have been suckered into switching from UNIX to M$. Oh wait, I forgot, everything works better on MS products right? That's why we have many security/virus/worm/bug/whatever flaws. What a great product Bill!

I said it once, and I'll say it again: "The needs of the many, outweigh the needs of the few, or one."

Did someone say Battle for Endor?
