When I was arrested, they did keep me cuffed. They checked their guns when they got me inside. There was no special locked in area though to unload me from the car in. I'm sure this varies from state to state though. However, there was no way in hell I could have gotten away, stole a gun, shot some cops, and stole the car. Or even got away. Whoever brought the kid in was obviously sleeping for that to happen.
I found postgres much easier to install and set up than mysql.

Linux is not Unix. Especially not like Aix, Irix, Solaris, BSD, etc are. Those are the Unixes.Linux is as free as you want it to be. Nothing says you *have* to use one of the distros.
No popup using 1.0 for me. There's about 100 ways to configure all the popup stuff, so that's probably why some people get em and some people don't.

You don't need Internet Explorer to boot Windows, and you don't need it to do Windows Updates, any browser will download the files just fine.
