The other reason the FCC is reviewing this is that the telco's are starting to look at providing video. The last thing the cable co's want is to offer individual channels, but if the telco's come in doing it then that would give them a leg up.
MS isn't specifically supporting HD-DVD or Blu-ray.
Of course MS doesn't make movies and the only hardware they make that would be relevent is the xbox.
The new Xbox 360 is rumored to have only plain old DVD support as opposed to the next Sony Playstation which will have Blu-ray.
