KGO-Radio (810AM San Francisco) had an afternoon talk show host in the 1980's who declared war on the word, "basically," because people were abusing it all the time. After a while, he basically gave up.
You have obviously never built out a data center after the walls are up, the AC is running at full blast, and rows after rows of empty racks are waiting for installation of servers, switches and fiber cables.
Sorry. Slashdot exists to keep me amused while I wait for servers to finish rebooting. A coworker interrupted my train of throught.;)
Anyway, OP commented that conservatives want equal treatment. That's fine. Unless, of course, money and property rights are involved. Than the public can go screw itself.
The term limousine liberal was first used in 1969. I've heard the term when Ronald Reagan was president in the 1980's. The only time I see that term in recent times is typically in posts pointing out that [m|b]illionaire so-so isn't a conservative but a liberal. As if that makes a difference.
When I was a kid in the ealry 1970's, we couldn't flap our jackets and screamed "BATMAN!" while running on the playground. Our parents were told not to let us watch "violent" TV shows like Batman and The Three Stooges at home.
Conservatives are for equal treatment. For instance, a law against sleeping on the sidewalk should be enforced equally on both millionaires and homeless vagrants.
Unless, of course, the millionaire bought the sidewalk and the public can no longer use the sidewalk because it's private property. California has a court case where a millionaire homeowner blocked off the path next to the house that leads down to a public beach. Last I heard, the homeowner lost the case.
Never mind that taxes at an 80 year low. When taxes were 90% after WW2, many corporations plowed that money back into the business to avoid giving it to Uncle Sam. With low inflation and low interest rates, many corporations are content to hoard cash and let it sit idle.
Most people work after graduating, become consultants, and hit the rubber chicken circuit by writing books and doing videos. So someone figured out how to skip working and consulting, went straight to the videos, and made big bucks. Meh... I got a business plan on the back of a napkin that will make zillions. Give me your money.
I keep an open mind by not being bias towards whoever is currently president. If you're blinded by bia, the only news you will seek is the kind that confirms and reinforces your bias.
If I was to get a firearm, I would have that problem as I lived in California. The South African Neostead Shotgun is unavailable in the U.S. and illegal in California.
The real issue is that everyone wants services but no one wants to pay taxes for those services. Not the corporations. Not the rich. Not the middle class. The poor will always get screwed no matter what. We borrow and spend, hoping that the check never arrives.
How reading and watching news from multiple sources to form an independent opinion. Oh, wait. It's hard work to stay informed. Never mind. Carry on. Nothing to see here.
You mean the U.S. multinational companies that shipped U.S. manufacturing jobs around the world for cheap labor? Let them leave. American policies should reward multinationals that invest in American plants and workers. Not vice versa.
I voted to raise cigarette taxes in 1988 (my first election after I turned 18). Never smoked in my life. After the election, cigarettes were $20+ per carton. My father couldn't justify spending that much money for cigarettes each week. He quit smoking after 30 years, starting when he was 15. He died 30 years later after a bout of throat cancer.
Paying more in taxes and getting fewer services from the government. As baby boomers retire, the tax base will grow smaller. Retirees will expect more from the government because, you know, because they're the ultimate Me Generation and entitled to having the American Dream on a silver platter.

Not just a data center, but a command center. A huge difference!
Renewable energy doesn't require engineering?

Sure. But it took two lawsuits to make it happen.

I don't watch Fox News.

Which one of your constitutional rights was infringed upon by the government this week?

Stop watching Fox News. You might find life less paranoid.

If the goal is to drive "multinational companies screwing over US taxpayers" completely out of the US, this is the perfect solution.
FTFY
A gasoline-powered rocket was probably a bad idea during the 1970's oil crisis. Salvage 1 would have worked better back then.
OMG mushroom cloud on the launch pad. Think of all the downwind environmental protesters!

What's the sacrifice though?

All those basement dwellers evicted for this data center are struggling in the big blue room with the yellow light and being mistaken for zombies.
