I trust Penny Arcade more than anyone else when it comes to anything game related. I'm just to bitter, cynical, and violent to listen to those "mainstream" video game reviewers.
What we need, is another game following in the lines of Deus Ex. I personally like games where I sometimes have to think. Holding down the "Fire" button for 3 hours straight and strafing back and forth is not my idea of a satisfying gaming experience.
If the military outsourced, wouldn't they want to at least outsource to someone on their side? Then again, most people in the US aren't on their side either...
The racing part appears to have nothing to do with the movie, the only real hint of the movie is the clip with the sports car and the pick up talking.
I think that the pitstop in the racing scene, where little forklift-type thingies replace the tires on the car instead of people doing it, may be a sign that there will be no people in this movie. I think that every other Pixar movie has had people in it at some point, except maybe "A Bug's Life" and "The Incredibles". The complete removal of people would be nice, as it would get rid of that nasty "Uncanny Vally" effect we've been hearing so much about.
most smokers smoke because Nicotine is an adictive depressant
I'll agree that nicotine is highly addictive, but, being water soluble, once nicotine intake is ceased, all of the nicotine is completely flushed out of your system in 3-5 days. Then, in about another week, all of the chemicals in your brain and body that where changed by all the nicotine mucking about have returned completely back to normal. So the physical addiction of cigarettes is gone after a maximum of two weeks of not smoking. However, when you're sitting around watching TV, or hanging out with friends, or anything else not requiring huge ammounts of concentration, what do you do? You do what you have always done for the past [however long you smoked], you light up a cigarette, and you do it almost automatically.
Smoking is a physical habbit, like chewing your lip or biting your nails, and it really isn't any harder to get over than any other physical habbit, save for the two weeks that your body is adjusting back to normal.
I personally have found scratches to the "label side" of the disk (i.e. damage to the actual reflective material) to cause much more data corruption than even extensive scratches and scuffs on "shiny" side, especially when it starts to flake and peel off.
I think it's time for humankind to let go of it's ego and admit that maybe, just maybe, we don't know, and that it's possible that we never will.
I do hope, however, that I am someday proven wrong.
If it IS bandwidth constraints, just wait untill all these new people who wheren't subscribers before, but will be now because it's portable get tacked on.
It looks like maybe they're trying to make a pretty new gadget, get more money, THEN invest in imporoving their bandwidth. When what a NICE buisiness would do is make the investment to begin with, attracting more subscribers, which would THEN pay off for their investment.

Internet2 looks to me like it transfers data faster than my hard drive can even write...

(Note: None of that was sarcasm.)

Scratches from the other side of the disk ;)

"...which measures the technological capabilities of the country's 357 top colleges and universities."
But where's the survey measuring the technological capabilities of the students?
