Owning a company with many IT employees I do see this a lot, people are not prepared for real world situations coming from Universities. BUT the classes in Colleges and Universities aren't there to teach how to deal with specific situations, they're almost always theory and very little hands on.
The requirements that I now employ in my hiring process, after going through a lot of IT grads, is for people to demonstrate their capability to trace problems and be systematic about troubleshooting issues. That's more of a thought process than it is something that can be taught. The employers that believe people are going to have the perfect training just out of school are just ignorant to the diversity of the term IT.
Retaining Wi-Fi packet sniffing records falls under the wiretapping laws, both Federal and State, and without court orders for each person they got the packets from that's going to be hard to justify the retention of those captures, even more so to look at their content.
If they added a USB port, it would be an interesting addition to on site troubleshooting of network gear if all you need is a terminal window. Just add USB serial dongle or something to that effect. Other than that my cell phone does everything it does.
Wonder what this does to jitter control on mobile Pc's, finer beam means more possiblity of messed up a 500gb disc. Not sure about anyone else but I am pretty depressed when my DVD fails on a burning session considering their current cost. 500gb disc? Going to be pricy to chance I'm sure./me clicks burn disc and holds breath
What is this IRC you speak of? Real criminals use Morse Code.
