Majority of koreans live in high rise apartments, which are usually packed close together. Its really easy for ISPs to drop off fiber to the curb and since last mile problem is minimezed... ISP costs, maintenance, etc etc cost are minimized too. IMHO, it is one of teh biggest reasons for high penetration score of korean broadpband.
MS makes a product. MS decides that it will sell it for $ xxx. Someone starts boasting his balls of that "Hey! look at me, I am an oober ceewwwl guy.. I got a pirated copy of Windows, dude!, I rock!"....
What's the f***ing pride in doing that? If you so bloody hate MS, stop using their products. If you cant live without Windows, and buy pirated copies, keep it to yourself. If you _have_ to tell it to someone and can't relieve yourself without doing that... well, at least dont boast about it. Its nothing to boast about.
Dont make a big deal about MS being ripped coz they can't safeguard against piracy, not many mass produced and used softwares can keep this thing under control.
I did not find M$'s attempt as cheap at your chimp-chest-pumping and beating. really, dude!
i went to microsoft.com and in that search box, i
typed "microsoft search".. and the results showed links only to
http://beta.search.msn.com and there was no mention of
http://search.msn.com.... i guess the 5 billion pages microsft searcch has
claimed to index is missing its own page..:D... not to
mention that www.microsoft.com site's search box is not linked with
search.msn.com too..
anyways, a simple search of my name at msn is far inferior and out of
context at search.msn.com... as compared to that of google's search
C'mon, I dont believe there's anything in it about EU proving something or 'sure showed the dirty, nasty US'. I believe that they did a sensible thing. The appeals process will take 5 years... so whats the significance of the earlier ruling if MS can go about doing everything as it was doing before the concerend ruling. Now MS will have to comply to the ruling for the present and is free to continue the appeals. Who knows what MS might pull off in 5 years that renders the earlier ruling irrelevant (like MS might change its packaging in some other twisted way such that the ruling cannot impose the change it actually asked to be enforced)
