I don't know about the average slashdotter, but this editor probably seems to be "oh, it's just encryption; I'll reverse it and be home for lunch" school of thought.
They didn't just distance themselves from the company, they were going to relaunch it under a totally new name/look while still making sure it couldn't be tracked back to them. Doesn't this constitute entrapment?
I agree, I spent a few seconds parsing that sentence trying to decide. Pwn is far more appropriate, and saying "owning" doesn't make it any more formal.
Really? So they can tell me how to get both ADSL modules to work? I've been trying to do that for a year, do you know whom I can contact? I tried their site's support section but they never replied (which is less than the support I've gotten from DLink or the OpenWRT people).
Can someone explain to me the difference between a $50 OpenWRT router and a $2k Cisco one? I have both, and the OpenWRT router is by leaps and bounds more featureful than the Cisco one (I guess that doesn't really make sense, because for $20k the Cisco can have the same features). Obviously the difference is reliability/performance, but what are the exact limits? How many people do I have to have in my network before getting a Cisco? How will I know that?
The thing is that it has 5 times less storage than the older iPod (80 GB). Sure it's got touch and wireless, but that just means no tactile feedback, no wireless syncing (I have many computers around the house, even my mobile has a browser) and less space at a higher price. Not the most attractive deal.
That's because LCDs don't refresh. They don't have a beam that scans the screen 60 times a second, like CRTs do. Instead, their pixels remain at that value until they are given the signal to change, and the faster that change happens, the faster the screen is. That's why an LCD could be at 1 Hz and you wouldn't notice anything (until the picture changed, anyway).
What's more, you're spending all that money in a system that will be obsolete in a few months (obsolete for what you want it, anyway) and on top of that, there aren't any games that require that much speed! When the new games that do require it come out, you will have gotten the new latest and greatest. Who needs 140 FPS anyway? Are there even screens that can display it?
Here in Greece all shows are subtitled, so at least someone that speaks English can watch them. It's not that they make mistakes in translation, it's that the text is effectively untranslatable. Puns, cultural references, all the stuff that makes Family Guy, Futurama, etc great can't be translated into any other language. Plus, not only do you have to speak English, you need to have a rather extensive knowledge of American pop culture in order to understand the jokes (especially with Family Guy)...
Nah, I'd bet it's his native language. A non-native speaker would never mistake words based on what they sound, due merely to the fact that they don't hear them spoken that much, but rather write them. They'd make a whole different class of mistakes, mainly involving omitted or extraneous articles, wrong tenses, etc etc. I'm a non-native speaker and I've seen MANY people trying to speak/write it, so you tend to notice the pattern of mistakes.

You misspelt "'Heresy'" (Note the double quotes).

Are we using "owned" to mean "taken control of" in official context now, or is it just me?
I'm in Greece, sadly a phonecall would cost more than the router. Maybe they have headquarters here, I'll look into that, thanks.

It doesn't really seem to do anything.

No way, the most common way to Photoshop stuff is with the GIMP.
In seriousness, though, you must be new here. Insert "open source" in that sentence and then it'll make sense.
Gaah, also with food. To people chewing with their mouths open: You look bad and sound worse. It makes me want to stab you with a fork. Please cease.
Is it any surprise that they will try to change the laws when they don't suit them?
What does by weather mean? I'm not familiar with the phrase, can someone explain it?
Yes, and I was explaining why I made the choice I made. You might say that noone asked me, but who asked you?

Dude, there were no Maan in it, the thing's correct. Stop nitpicking!
Interesting choice of name. Selene was a lunar deity and is the Greek word for the moon.
Which computers are these? My 6 year old PC runs it with some 70 fps. The gentleman doth protest too much, methinks.

Also, FEWER ads. At least get your nitpicking right.
I wholeheartedly agree. I wish my +1, Funny moderation on the GP hadn't evaporated with the posting of this comment.
I was just kidding :P
