    Too True...

I watched "Pirates of Silicon Valley" this weekend, an old made for TV special about the 80s rise of Apple and Microsoft. As impressed as I have been with Apple since Jobs took the reigns back in 1996, I am still keenly aware that Apple is equally as guiltly of trying to make me solely dependent on them as Microsoft.

Just because your company works develops and distributes under the GPL doesn't mean that you aren't going to be tempted by the vast riches that come from having a monopoly in your software (or hardware) niche. ~

  2. The answer?? on Spammers' Upend DNS · · Score: 1

I've been randomly experiencing some issues with phantom emails sent to my domain. People swear up and down that they sent me an email (sometimes a reply to an email I sent) and I don't recieve it. Futhermore they don't receive an undeliverable or waiting for delivery response. I've checked spam filters - everything I can think of. The evidence is that the email is getting dropped somewhere in the chain. Could overloaded DNS servers on either end be causing this issue? BTW - I'm not using my domain to send SPAM. No really, I'm not, I SWEAR! -- Rock and Roll ain't no riddle man...

Anyone use a Knoppix or DSL distro to troubleshoot Mac OS disks? I had an OS 9 disk crap out on me and tried to troubleshoot with Knoppix STD to no avail. I don't think it had the necessary stuff to read Mac filesystems.
