  1. Re:Google Favors Apache on MSN Search Engine Favors IIS · · Score: 1

i wonder if analysis of the search engines shows anything without seeing the algorythms they are based on? it is still a great idea for study.

  2. Google Favors Apache on MSN Search Engine Favors IIS · · Score: 2, Interesting

Coudn't you infer that the results of this study show that Google favors apache? They are in compitition with Microsoft after all. I am sure that both search engines are using different algorithms, why assume that Google ranking is truely "correct". Why not study a greater number of search engines and see if all show a bias one way or the other.

I wonder if he means that after a comet hits the earth or a super volcano blows, we have a 1 in 455 chance of surviving?

  4. Re:Satelite imagery on Google Keyhole, Google Scholar · · Score: 1

I think the value of the imagery is both in terms of resolution and time. The resoilution available from kjeyhole appears to be better than what is avaiable from most courthouses. By time, I mean that most imagery data is dated. In areas where there is a lot of development. the keyhole data may be more up to date than the courthouse data. Lastly, in a lot of cases free imagery can be downloaded for free from your state's GIS Office.
