He even invented drag'n'drop - building on other's design ideas. What he IS opposing is the way current GUIs use the mouse and modes - even alot of his own designs from the time when he was working for Apple.
Maybe he didn't memorize the 100-digit number within 11.8 seconds but was simply told what to do with it when the clock started ticking.
