A question that comes to mind on this issue, is what the feasibility is of using this same technique to grow lungs. Furthermore, to correct the CF gene in the source genetic material prior to the growth. Idea being that new lungs can be grown from the same genetic material of a CF patient, but without having the CF gene, then reimplanted without the need for anti-rejection meds. This could save the lives of a great number of people, and improve the quality of life for many others.
Whats got me curious... is if there is any political benefit to using this avenue to influence votes from the furry fandom, and various other abstract subcultures on SL. The majority of the members of the fur fandom are generally not politically inclined, and considering the mass of the fandom, if somehow a politician were to tap into that, it could be of reasonable influence in the votes cast. There are those few of us that are interested in politics... but on the whole, its a rather untapped area in the political respect. Anyhow.... I think that SecondLife could be a very viable angle for a politician to take, if it is used correctly.
To those who base their thoughts of furry, on articles from somethingawful and MTV, etc... I've no interest in flames based on these onesided ignorant sources. There is a happy little delete button for anyone who would like to try though.

As a more serious thought on the matter than my friend, the idea has some merit and some obvious spin off ideas. For example, used as a support system in situations where the pilot is disabled or the plane is hi-jacked a shortrange version of the system could be used to take over the plane from nearby towers or any other cleared Aircraft. It could also be used for assistance with autopilot mechanisms for automatic readjustment via satelite; however I do agree that the system does have its far and fair shares of flaws that need to be completely ripped out before the system is even considers full run. Start on something less massive, IE, Public transportation or maybe more like, kids toys.
Can I patent the use of a prehensile didget for the purpose of activating a switching device?
Could be useful for anything from lightswitches to keyboards to mice!
Or......on second thought, how about Patenting the use of an LED for the purpose of annoying the user ?

So........ With the energy problem being so sufficiently urgent, We would still rather look for new ways to blow up life on the planet, than to sustain it? How wonderful and futureminded our goverments are for their people, that they'd put so much work to our destruction, rather than fix one of the main reasons this planet has conflicts, Oil & Energy.
Was surfing around and managed to find an alternate site where you can grab the infamous anti-spam screensaver : http://www.mungdungus.com/MLNS.zip
