  1. Microsoft is much like Iambic pentameter on Windows: Not Doomed Yet · · Score: 0

I've been a windows user since the 3.1 days. What I have found is every other version of windows sucks pretty bad. So they make it work 50% of the time. The problem that they are having is people like familiar operations. Take the car for instance, you don't see people trying to innovate the basic controls of a car (for the most part) Most of the cars on the market operate in a similar fashion. You have a wheel that steers you, pedals that make you go faster or slower and if you are a car power user a stick or paddles to manually select a gear. I think that Microsoft saw that tablet sales were on the rise, and so they thought everyone wanted a tablet. Well, I have a tablet. I also have a computer. I don't want my computer to be a tablet, that's what the tablet is for. Contrasting a little bit, it would be like a car manufacturer seeing that motorcycles were on the rise, so they decided to swap the steering wheel of the car for something more akin to a handlebars. It's just not going to work. What I believe they need to realize is that their "innovations" with the operating system need to NOT do the following things: - Prevent people from adapting (I still get tripped up when I need to find things that are in control panel in windows 7) - Prevent people from being more productive in work cases (Look at the companies that still use windows XP) - Prevent (insert something here) Instead they need to focus innovation in areas that actually make it a better operating system such as - Memory management - Time it takes to load a program/whatever - Command line tools for people that actually know what they are doing. Come on Microsoft. Stop sucking, and start doing something useful.

  2. We're obviously upset... but what can we do? on MPAA Blames BitTorrent for Star Wars Distribution · · Score: 0

I've read through a few postings from fellow slashdotters (Many much more... prominate than I) And I notice I do nothing but agree with the facts... Starwars' final chapter hit a record... yet the MPAA is saying it's not enough... What can we do about this though? It's obvious people (specificaly people whom use bittorrent) are being targeted by this propaganda... I want to do something *active* though, not sit around and complain.. What can I do?

  3. Whos going to win on Music Industry Drafts Code of Conduct for ISPs · · Score: 0

This is a horrible battle, I mean, you have on one hand the people who are saying that "honest" people are losing large sums of money, where the only person losing the money is the middle man, the RIAA, the artists are losing nothing.. Blah, I'm getting to hate the RIAA/Music industry. But my real question is who is going to win this battle, the RIAA or "the people" (people who download music) You have on one hand people with a lot of money, a huge corperation, they're starting to call it stealing, they're getting it into people's head's that when you copy data and share it, it's a form of theft.. That's the most assanine thing ever, and if the world was dedicated to that princible (which it seems we are) Then we will have to deal with a slow rate of groth with technology and learning about our univurse.. Feh, I'm angry

  4. Take down the makers of the internet on Jail Time For P2P Developers? · · Score: 0

The makers of the internet, the people whom first made it public, the first few servers... Let us go after the people who created the idea of the technology (and if anyone remembers the thing about al gore claiming that he created the internet, we can blame him ;) ) I mean come on, what's next?

  5. Re:Everyone forgets the most important question on MyDoom Strikes Again · · Score: 0

Well, go find out ;) *smirks*

  6. Adult websites on MyDoom Strikes Again · · Score: 0

Well, the way I see this is: People who are stupid enough to open an email claiming to contain adult passwords deserve to get the virus... *shrugs* Was MyDoom the one that DDoSed that website? I forgot.... Which website was that... *falls over in confusuion*

  7. Well. on Bill Gates in 1983 Teen Beat Magazine · · Score: 0

Hey, that's not too bad, come on.. he's cute kind of... At least he didnt have pimples all over and stuff, I'd love people to take a shot at me like that :D And hey, he's a billionair, he can do that ;)

  8. Big Brother on Gunshot Tracking Cameras to be Deployed in LA · · Score: 0, Troll

  9. Well... on HIV Vaccine · · Score: 1

Well, this is the article that made me want to finally post a comment...
So here it is, as uninsightful as it is..

First off, I'm questioning the viability of this article, it could all be a sick joke, from where I'm standing at least... the news almost sounds "Too good to be true" so I mean... which part is the bad part, there has to be a downfall, a facility, something wrong with it all, because that's the way the world works...
Where's the wall that we still haven't found a way around?
Or is this truly one of the most amazing breakthroughs (in my opinion) to the scientific community?
