Speak for yourself ... I live in the "Great American Desert" namely Nebraska and the closest ocean is probably 900-1000 miles off and about 1500 feet below. But on your behalf Nebraska does sit upon one of the largest unground sea/aquifier in the world and if the water table rose a few hundred feet we might be treading water along with you.

Right now if you have a blemish on your credit report it takes an act of congress to get something changed the credit agencies only let you change something because the law says they have to; the law doesn't say make it easy. Just because you cash a paycheck doesn't mean you fall into the corporate march. Maybe you believe you can a/effect (can't remember which is proper in this context) change by maybe writing better algorithms or even convincing your coworkers to take a stand and just say no to all the rush it out the door. Yea most likely it is the David vs. Goliath battle but hey that is not the worst you could be.... you could be a stockholder DEMANDING more profits no matter what.

I also don't have a car payment/credit card bill to take 30-35% of my monthly income either. The corn you plant today is SIMILIAR to what you planted last year but the starch/sugar content along with the shape of the kernel can be Vastly different from the "finished" content. To me; a layman it's similiar to the difference between Linux, OSX , and Windows they all are Operating sytems but they get to the final results very differently.

My military service required a Confidential Security Clearance therefore having being investigated by the FBI I "really" had no problems with my fingerprints being put into the national database along with my military information but today when any 11 year kid with a script kit can access that info all of a sudden my information can't be trusted to be only viewed by people with similiar Security Clearances but also by the geek that lives in his parents basement who has an uber elite group of friends that could make EVERYONES life miserable. Identifying someone by an "Universal" number/RFID/National Identity card is akin to drawing a bullseye on the back of my neck so some asshole knows that I am important enough to have a connection with the government. If I was a "terrorist" I would attack the infrastructure of a nation that I wanted to defeat. That is a helluva lot easier than attacking the military (which is trained to handle that kind of situation). People need to realize that if our railroads could be attacked your next trip down to the 7-11 might end up with shelves being empty.
