We used to use Weblogic but the license was becoming too expensive for our JSP/Servlet Financial Application, so we switched to Sun's iPlanet Web Server and have never looked back. They are pretty much giving away the Software now. It comes free with any server purchase (We use the cheap Netra X1 and Sunfire V100, which are about 1K) and I bet if you wanted to purchase thier new Linux Server, they wouldn't have a problem with you running it for free there as well. -_Tony
I've been tracking the www.media-box.org project for awhile. It has promise, but it hasn't lived up quite yet. Here are the problems I see with this project.
1. There is only one person working on it.
2. Not Open Source
3. Updates come very very slowly.
4. Windows/DirectX based
I've been looking for an Opensource/Linux version for some time and haven't been able to find anything of yet. I believe all of the pieces of a Linux Multimedia Set-Top box exsist. They just need to be put together.
