of course that comment is bullshit, but do you expect them to ADMIT that they've compromised the security of everyone who purchased these cds??? I think they're doing their best to avoid litigation. Sony=Evil, plain and simple.

absolutely not because this is perfectly legitimate and REQUIRED by law....otherwise it counts as gambling, notice all corporate promotions say "no purchase necessary" well this is no different. Besides, why do you think they set up that email account anyway? It's not like this is some super secret loophole that fools apple into thinking you downloaded a track from them.

Sure there is 1080p source. You're gonna hate this but it comes from.........MIRCROSOFT!!! Check out the wmvhd videos (terminator 2 and others on their site) those are native 1080p. I'd love to see that on an 80" DLP.

it used to be a default option but people were experiencing problems with it on some pages, therefore, they hid the option in the about:config so only advanced users could activate it until they could get all the bugs out of it.

you CAN have your "new window" links open in a new tab. just type "about:config" in the address bar (no quotes, obviously) and then in the filter box type "browser.tabs.show" and double click the only entry so that it goes from FALSE to TRUE. Now all you have to do is go into options, advanced, and click force links that open in new window to open in new tab. Simple as that...or you can just dl an extension that will do it for you but it is naitively supported by firefox. If you have problems with it you can even download QuickTabPrefToggle extension to toggle that setting as you wish.

Hey there, what software do you use to RIP to .ogg ?
Nothing beats dBpoweramp (now in version 11) with lame 3.96. Just download it http://www.dbpoweramp.com/ and install the free codecs for AAC, OGG, WMA, FLAC, etc.

That's where it all hits the fan - DRM. If the RIAA wasn't such a greedy bunch of pigfuckers, we could all trade MP3s and get dinged for each trade (say, a dime per trade), and everyone would be happy. Napster had a system like that under works, and were ready to roll it out, then it was reduced to a smoke hole in the ground over in Redwood Shores. Dime a Trade? I'd do it. Especially if a source got a rating (this way asshats who rip stuff at 64 mono, have clicky messy files, or are shills for the RIAA, can be avoided) like in EBay. You would have to use a specific client, and that client would be wired to your bank account. Everybody happy, and we could all use plain vanilla MP3s - no muss no fuss no chocolate mess. RS
