I agree. Presonally I believe that Apple could make a lot more money by selling the OS separate. They can still sell the hardware + OS but they should really give us a choice.
Personally I believe that OS X is an awesome OS but I like building my own computers and don't want a factory made one.
Furthermore, this would give businesses a bigger insentive since they can buy cheap ass Dells and load it with OS X.
And the reason the parties are able to distract us with these non-issues such as gun control or gay marriage, is there is a force even stronger than selfishness in the American psyche: The desire to impress my arbitrary moral values on someone else.
Hmm I disagree. The fact that gay people are attempting to pass a law to allow them to marry seems more like they are the ones that are attempting to impress their moral values on others.
Nobody is locking them up or killing them or anything like that, so no one is really imposing their beliefs on them. Back in Russia gay people were thrown in jail. Now that was imposing your beliefs on others.
Better start locking up some white christians then.
Hmm.. I don't recall saying to lock anyone up. And I wonder what you suggest? Do you suggest that we just let everyone go about their daily business and not bother anyone even if they look like they are doing something suspecious? You do know that 9/11 could have easily been avoided IF the government was more wary. Now they have become too wary but you know why? They made a big mistake once and I doubt they want to make it again.
Defending your freedoms by giving up your freedoms? Makes a lot of sense. Moron.
Interesting. You say that giving up ones freedom is a bad thing but then go on to call me a moron because I stated my opinion in the public domain, thereby stating that I don't have a freedom to do that by calling me a moron. Maybe next time you respond to people you should make a better choice of words.
Hey you know what? I can't blame them. If he's taking pictures near locks and he looks like he might be a Muslim, the homeland security people have no choice. I'm not saying that Muslims are bad people in general or anything like that. What I am saying is that the US and MANY other countries are/were attacked by Muslim extremists.
Yeah sure, lots of other extremists are out there that are not Muslims, but you know what? When your country lost 4000 innocent people to some extremists, I don't blame homeland security to be wary around those people. If you don't understand them then I think your the one who has the problems.
I think it's better to be over secure and have a lot of people as a false alarm then to let some real threats through and have another 9/11.
Agreed. Windows comes with less software and provides patches for only a few of them (mainly the core OS, IE, ect) while Linux distros usually come with tons of software packages and provide patches for all of them. But this isn't a new claim. In M$'s Get The Facts campaign they had one article done by Forrester about Windows being more secure than Linux based on patch counts.
My question is how do they get away with this? Isn't this considered false advertisement in a sense? And how does the Linux community react to this FUD (I have seen some reaction from Novel but nothing to the extent of M$)?
Not only would it be possible, the entire cable could weigh just 6,800 kg according to the article's calculations.
With such a small weight we could make a space elevator on the moon with modern technology. The obvious benefits of this lie in our ability to actually build one of these things rather than running nice theoritical simulations.
Furthermore, with a space elevator in place we can see how effective and easy it is to set up for real. Also, if all goes according to plan, this will give us a chance to easily get material into orbit (from the moon) and assemble space crafts there for a more cost effective spaceship building process. Finally, as someone mentioned above, science always takes an unpredictable turn and we discover things that we didn't think were possible. So you never really know the benifits will come from more moon missions or a manned Mars mission.
Actually, about the gnome also being customizable... When I upgraded my SuSE to 9.2 I got gnome as well as KDE. I checked out gnome since my friend suggested that it was better than KDE. However, I quickly realized that the customizability of gnome did not come close to that of KDE (you have to edit config files for the system to get it to do what you want).
Furthermore, as far as I remember, fluxbox is suppost to be a striped down window maker. The more striped down you get the less customizability you get, but then you do get good speed. So it's all up to you, you want to customize stick with KDE.
What scares me the most is that M$ will try to solve it's problems with money. One of those problems is spyware, so they purchase a company to battle it. Another problem is competition (a growing one in the browser world) and thus they might try to pay for their problems to go away, thus the Mozilla company will become Winzilla, and Opera Wopera and so forth.

Maybe you should make your site standards compliant too :P
The text goes over the picture of the monitor and keyboard in Firefox 1.0.2 on SuSE 9.2, which I assume was not your intended rendering.
Here are some errors

Don't give them ideas!
make sure to patent it!

I, for one, welcome our very long method name calling overlords. *ducks*
For example a new language construct (for eaxmple generic classes in Java 5) is an example of a good tool.
:P.
This is in fact not a new construct in anyway, Sun just copied C++'s template classes which have been around for longer than I have been alive
An M$ future lies ahead...
