I think when companies get this large it's all about "cycles of popularity."
All places have their pluses and minuses, and the few reports in this article are hardly of such grandiose statements.
I can say having interacted with a lot of Microsoft people lately they really do have a thing against google. The mantra really is "Google doesn't really do anything successfully other than search."
I think someone said on Slashdot that Microsoft makes software people have to use, Google makes products people want to use.
Two concerns that I have now:
1) This is beta. The license is for beta. It is to be for OpenSource(?) But, what if everybody installs and uses it only to find later that there is a fee? (No big deal, I say.)
2) Privacy. The license agreement clearly spells out that they can collect and use "personally identifiable information" as they wish. (NOT good.)
Yes, but what I have noticed is that often these movements are due to the change in printer & printer drivers. Just a thought, this really could be the issue.
This *feature* has been driving me nuts for years with MS Word documents. Take a document to another computer with a different printer, all the print formating gets messed up.
I keep wondering, VOIP is never going to really be very good until ISPs increase the bandwidth on the UPLOAD side. Download is fine, but the uploads speeds are just terrible.
Thanks very much! I didn't know about those programs, and the other people (anonymous cowards) who responded to this thread were not very helpful or polite.
Well, LCDs are clearly on the way out. I just hope all those CRTs will be recycled (including TVs) and not end up in our water supply etc.
How do my fellow Slashdotters recycle their old CRTs?
When are we going to get decent upload speeds from broadband providers?? VOIP on a pathetic 256 or 358 upload is just crappy. I hope VOIP forces these guys to start giving more upload b/w
I use starpower and at least they give us 1mbit upload, which makes it possible to run my own web server and use VOIP if I want.
Having people be able to try and use different OSS products under windows will only make people more interested and ABLE to move to an OSS OS later on...
Thanks for the article captain obvious :)

I would be glad to reply once you stop hiding behind an "anonymous coward" name.
So sorry. I meant that the lead from the CRT eventually ends up in the water supply.

Laugh and charge them 2x the amount you were going to when you were fired! :)

Haha, i just caught that too.
:)
Also, another typo, it should be fflaming
One can comment negatively on linux, mac, ipod, and star wars and NOT be flameing.
It's disapointing that someone posted an honest criticism of lucas' films, and he is labeled as flamebait.
:)
Seriously, moderators try to be impartial and neutral. One can comment negatively on linux, mac, ipod, and star wars and be flameing.
Now to cover my butt from being called a flamer from the moderators: Linux rules, I love Mac, I love Ipods! MS sucks!
He probably didn't have much manhood to start with...he was, after all, a hobbit! :D
Check it yourself to be sure you are patched, I am uninstalling and re-installing now to hopefully get the newer version
