Internally management has been talking about it for a couple of years. Before I was "rightsized" a few years ago on that account GM was already making their plans. This is nothing new to the people in the know. It is a sign and should be seen by others as such. nuff said.
KR is not the only corporate out there like this. All of the big players in the industry are run by people that are more concerned about saving their jobs than trying something new. I personally bring my insight on this from the former Thompson Newspapers now defunct and more recently Gannett. Inovation is not welcome, just follow the standard and everyone keeps their jobs. It's too bad newspapers will not die no, but the only survivors will be the small locals that aren't afraid to make a mistake and learn from it. Here's to the the "mom and pop" orgnaizations.

Agreed, in a metro area you can get a t1 for just over $500 a month.
