Just thought I'd pass the following info along i found at

The passage of the Copyright Amendment (Computer Programs) Bill 1999 yesterday will allow software developers to reverse-engineer software code in order to develop interoperable products, if the original developer doesn't make interface information available. In passing the law, the Federal Government has argued that making such activities illegal is an impediment to Australian software developers.
Looks like what ever happens in the US, the code would still be legal in Australia provided your allowed to link to it.
Australia's media has and is more liberal than that in the US. Australian's have enjoyed words like 'shit' and 'fuck' uncensored in our music on free to air radio and have seen full frontal nudity on free to air TV since the late 70's.
(ie JJJ Radio / The Box / #96 / Chances / Nude Hobbies)
Try doing any of the above on 'Ricky Lake' 'Gerry Springer' (maybee)
The Internet Censorship bill was passed to win the favours of a single puritant politician who held the deciding vote for some vital government legislation.
Pure and simple it was a BRIBE, but the irony is that the member who they tried to bribe voted against them and we are now stuck with the legislation.
Problem is now that although we all know that the legislation is UNWORKABLE no politician will admit that it is flawed (Surprise! Surprise!)
The legislation is due for review in a year or two and then the govermant will have an "out" clause without losing face. Politics as usual.
Windows 3.0 GUI was derived directly from the OS/2 GUI that Microsoft and IBM where jointly developing.
But if they didn't develop it we'd all be running a real Object Orientated Desktop that XEROX PARC where working on at the time of that famous vist by Jobs & Wosniak.
Fuck Beta
I'm off to kuro5hin
Too bad It can resurrect Slashdot Classic
Fuck The Beta
Is the Glomar Explorer still in service?
Here's a chance for Redhat or VA
to put some of that IPO money to good use.
I doubt that $2500 would put much of a dint
in either of those two pockets.

Hi Alan,
Could you please give us the status of the
ISDN/PPP/MPPP projects and how they'll fit into
the release of the 2.4 kernel?
