Next you're going to tell me there isn't an up in space. It's been what 50 years that we've understood that? Almost like finding out the world is round.
I miss understood. You're saying I'm naturally left, because I grew up without money. And you're naturally right because you grew up with money. (Of course I don't know which is which, nor do I understand if you are talking about something completely different than money.)
While I agree that upbringing has a lot to do with how you grow up, I sincerely believe biology also plays a part in who or what a person is, problem is you can only summarize these differences when there is a whole lot of evidence. After realizing this you have to look at a person's life and determine which event was affected by what? When understanding this, how can I reasonably conclude all the different reasons why I might sway on some political subject? I learn by watching political leaders either succeed or fail. When I see something that fails, I either disregard the person doing it as not doing a good job, or I evaluate their actions. My political views are never set in stone, because I am not dead yet. You aren't dead yet either, but when we all are, our loved ones will love us for who we were, everyone else remembers what you say and do, politics is about what you say and do while your alive. Why, play dead?
Just look for a comp sci or similar education, and some decent work experience developing real software and you should be OK.
Work experience and education make a huge difference. For instance many people think computer programing is similar to programing your VCR or programming your TV, remote control, or any other similar device like your cell phone, or even one of those really smart remote control toys they have these days. While this all fits under "feeding a computer instructions" it doesn't translate to the professional term very well, the people from other fields get kinda confused as to what laypeople think technology is, and they often do the hiring.
The way you think about issues is just a product of whether you're right or left.
Oh, he's nuts alright. This puts political theory in the same category as say, sex and race, for example, I was born a white male, which affects the way I think about issues.
I think this line of thought is perpetuated by the neo-conservatives, they aren't republican in nature after all, they have hi-jacked the GOP and the definition of "conservative" has changed from meaning "fiscally responsible" to "good American Christian". Now we have a colossal debt and arm-chair religious based science being taught in schools. The only thing we can really do is classify the nut bag neo-conservatives as right wing extremists, they do not support the vast majority of republican views.
Piece by piece, patent everything that goes in to the machine, and no none else can build one. Kinda like software, you don't patent a website, you patent 1-click technology.
Not talking about scooter, I'm talking about the president. I think as far as the history books are concerned the CIA will come out of the woodwork on this issue. They've all gone back to their day jobs, yea, but part of that is insuring the status of an institution. What the Bush administration did to the CIA was fundamentally wrong and the CIA will likely make sure future presidents understand that.
The RIAA may not ever find an IP address or MAC address on a SUBNET, because it may be classless.
"I cant imagine that address spoofing to share copyrighted files is in any way something worth worrying about." That's like saying "I don't think getting busted by the RIAA is something to worry about." When you add the two comments together it stands to reason that someone interested in downloading protected files would also be concerned with covering the thin skin on their ass. Just because your grandma can buy stuff online doesn't mean she's the only one doing it.
Spliced wires leave physical evidence, require access, and a certain level of concealment (involves criminal trespassing). Internet crimes are more prevalent than their former physical counterparts primarily because of anonymity (see file-sharing, cracking, hacking, phreaking, and identity theft/online fraud).
The issues you apply to a wireless router apply to ALL routers. Especially, in a campus setting where tracing access back to a MAC address, even if reliable, may mean absolutely nothing because the precious resource is quite often shared.
Forget about "if I were a republican" think about "if I were in the CIA", this might get the spooks on his ass in a bad way. A president disconnected from his intelligence department is far worse than facing bipartisanship in *every other branch of government*.
you're actually comparing a foreign language with a kid on a PC clicking on pictures. You're goofy, the girl is only beginning to read, much less type. To her there is *NO* functional difference between kde and explorer.exe.
Shouldn't your 5 year old be playing outside, instead of learning obscure Linux commands? I mean, I'm not a parent, but that seems kind of a twisted thing for a 5 year old to be doing.
[sarcasm]Yea, but social security's not going to fix itself, I mean people don't get paid much for playing ya know and I can't work forever. You might want to consider having kids, I'm sure leaching off your brats is way better than freezing in a cardboard box. You should see some of the myspace layouts she does, they're competitive for the market.[/sarcasm]
she plays paint programs, battleship and some educational stuff. The toughest thing I've tried to explain to her in the CS arena was how kturtle was working.
In the grand scheme of things, 14 hours isn't a big deal, it's just fustrating to have the device in your hands, totally unusable.
You're a f*cking lunatic. A six hundred dollar brick you have to haggle over for 14 hours, before it will do anything? That's insane. I'm sorry, but I'd attach the receipt to the damn thing and throw it back through a store window, but that's just me.
Germany is a corner case, period. Germany will get away with things or not get away with things the rest of the world will think trivial or ghastly. And it will happen because the senior population over there still scares the shit out of a lot of people (no offense). Mostly as far as global politics go, the rest of the world could give a shit about what Germany is doing so long as they aren't trying to kick everyone's asses again.
So, you hate Mac and Linux. I hate Windows. Why the hell does that bother you.
Objective my ass, you don't know the meaning of the f*cking term. What some glitter and shiny glass effects make MS better than everything else on the market? Seriously, WHAT makes Microsoft so much better than Linux or Mac? The "fact" that they single-handedly invented the home desktop? Bullshit!
You're right things are complex and they are in no way black and white, but you have completely failed in demonstrating that you actually understand that.
What am I to use if something really bad happened to Microsoft and Windows disappeared
You apparently have a vested interest in Microsoft's success, you are worthless without Windows by your own admission. You must think every new shiny button Microsoft prints out is some vast and brilliant innovation in computing developed by M$ just for you. Honestly, if Microsoft died tomorrow worthless "point and click" admins like you will have to grow up or get out. No more of this "the shiny button's not working so the network is down" crap.
Now, Microsoft delivers some damn fine applications, but they are in no way entitled to own every f*cking thing I click on, nor are they entitled to my money, when I don't want to use their software, finally they are decidedly NOT entitled to stifle innovation, simply because it is best for their bottom line.
It's extremely clear cut, you're just mildly psychotic.
Rather than being an Operating System company, Microsoft is a software company that uses their dominance in Operating Systems to leverage dominance in other software markets. These budding monopolies feed back into the Operating system monopoly, it's called vendor lock-in. Essentially, user-friendliness does not enter the equation, much of the Windows API simply should not be there in the first place.
"if Google does it, then it's the right thing for everyone"
No, many of us are reading it as "If it's bad for Microsoft, then it's the right thing for everyone". Google is big and scary, but most people don't hate them because they haven't given many reasons to be hated. People hate Microsoft, with good reason too.
There's a difference between power and abuse. Google is scary, but Microsoft has already got a toe hold in equally as much info as Google, for fucks sake it's written out in your EULA, M$ claimed that shit long ago.

They are having legal trouble finding immigrants. They don't want to raise salaries.

my five year old would disagree with you, then again, maybe you haven't been around computers much.

not yet, but they are working on it.
Kinda like those screensaver pop-ups "Thanks for letting us install adware, please visit www.assholes.com for more adware! It's FREE!!"
wrapped up with "What exactly will you do for a carton of cigarettes?"
So, you hate Mac and Linux. I hate Windows. Why the hell does that bother you.

I hate MS as much as the next guy (Windows user for quite a while now), :)
Hey that does make a lot more sense
Ok, I take it back, you're more than mildly psychotic. Take some pills and read my post again, then go to bed. Oh, and good night.

When in Rome...
Furthermore, who wants your personal information stored with a company that writes shitty software?
