I'm sure {at least I hope} that Bruce didn't mean to sound as extreme and "old boy" as he came across in his message.
After all, it would be difficult to be well known by everyone in the Linux community, or even a large percent of the Slashdot posters. Heck, if one out of a hundred thousand people knew who you were, then that's a major accomplishment.
Still, if you don't appear to be offering anything of value, then there had better be something that indicates you aren't a scam. It seems that L1 has failed to do this. -- Richard R. Klemmer WebTrek L.L.C.
censor-happy freaks, who, I believe, are closet pedophiles, just like, according to a psychological study, a lot of homophobics actually have homosexual tendencies.
Maybe it's the psychologist that have homosexual tendencies. Or maybe it's the marching homosexuals that have hetero-tendencies.
Or maybe it's the rabid Linux advocates that have Microsoft tendencies.
I use OS/2 also. I've got a Linux box as well, but I, like Mr. Steiner, spend most of my time in OS/2.
I actually find this an odd question for someone to ask. People ask this question all the time, even here on Slashdot, but few seem to listen to the answers. Oh well.
The ideal situation would be if we could buy a system with any OS, or without any OS.
That way, those of us who wish to do the installation ourselves are free to do so, and those who wish to try something else, but are a little too timid to do the installation can purchase a pre-loaded system.
Because IBM told them not to use it. IBM told them to use Windows NT, not OS/2.
And what is this product, anyway? How much does it cost? Is it a CLIENT or SERVER type product?
Oh, and did I say that IBM is responsible for people not wanting to use OS/2.
BTW, since this thread is about a low cost solution, I can guarantee that if you had a low cost OS/2 solution, then your statement that nobody wants it is false.

You have to include RMS in this group. That would really be fun to watch.

And guess what people...
There are limits to freedom. Once you come to realize that, then you will be much happier. :-)
