Wait, didn't IE do this? And all the tech-saavy people went crazy because people started using the browser specific "codes" that ended up causing incompatibilities?
Let not have a double standard. We cannot blame IE for its browser specific codes, when we are doing the same thing.
Besides, Mozilla has no where near the market share to really push this.
google can be replaced easily though... as soon as they screw up, we can change... but as with microsoft, we have a lot invested into it, we can switch so easily, and linux isn't near as good as a competitor as windows, face it. its a niche market, but as with search engines u can switch with no problems
Personally, I think google's controlling all these different things is great. They have delivered on almost every single thing they've attempted.
They combine power and simplicity in a way everyone loves, and maybe when most of your services are through google, they can link some things together (with appropiate security though)
if google ever becomes corrupt then we can just move on

i didn't recieve any errors either... its should be java responsibility to auto-update their software, not mozillas
