I wonder how do I scan a RFID that has been faxed to me from the other side of the world? Guess not... BAR CODES will still be quite useful for a very long time...
Back in the late 80's a friend of mine and I wrote a window manager with a much simpler solution to this. We simply added a 'send to back' button to every window. A single click and that window is sent to the bottom of the pile. Very easy for going behind your windows and seeing what is back there...
I think there's a market for someone like Google to offering bill management services like www.paytrust.com, but with a system that integrates better with actual banks (a front end for existing banks). It let's them sit in the middle of everything, something Google does very well.
For many years before 1996, Sony has been putting a LANC network control on their jukebox CD players. Many utilities we written (including old hypercard mac apps) to control music jukeboxes. You could select a CD, play, stop, pause. Some of these utilities even let you see album covers, details, etc. All, well before 1996.
I think I remember seeing products using LANC to control music on a PC back in the early 90's.. like 91-92, actually.
Price might be good for the Tesla S, but the purchasing requirements are still beyond most Americans ($5k down two years in advance).
