While i was reading the comments at the end of the page, slashdot displayed this quote: "We have found all life forms in the galaxy are capable of superior development. -- Kirk, "The Gamesters of Triskelion", stardate 3211.7"
Many thanks clearing that up, since im not an american, i really do confuse matters like these sometimes.. .
I love your last sentence, while its true, it still makes me chuckle:)
Hope im not outing myself to be stupid, but i remember having heard the clever remark once, that the USA are by definition not a democracy (which, i always felt is only one changed letter away from Madness...)
because the people in Washington, D.C. cant vote in the presidential election, thus not everyone is allowed to vote--> No democrazy,
Can anyone of you confirm of falsify this ?!
Darn, when i read the headline, i was hoping for Extragalactic Storage Space. This could have been a fine and secure place for my m&vie backups.. (Ohh my god, its full of stars)
as a recently joined slashdot pro, i didnt even read the comments, so mod me redundant if thats the case
Beeing a german and haveing grown up with those, admitantly sometimes disturbing, stories, I remember having learned that these stories originally werent intended for children. The stories and fairytales the grimms collected in the 18th century, have been going around for many hundreds of years before they were written down and collected. Back in those days, there were told by and for adults, wich explains why a lot of them are rather cruel and explicit. Try and find some of grimms fairytales in their original versions and you will be surprised. They are violent, sad, often have unhappy endings and, above all are very graphic about sex (that part got my attention, too)
Ive read it on pcgames.de, a german games-news site.
The article this information comes from can be found under http://www.pcgames.de/?article_id=344800. The information is in the last sentence, its in german though, but maybe babelfish can make some sense of it.
Hope that helps
Bad Brain Entertainment, a new german game developer,
has indeed failed to get the rights for Sam & Max.
But they are now talking to Steve Purcell, creator of the two characters,
to whom the rights appearently will fall back in may 2005.
So theres still Hope...
theres at least two of them taking place in
leipzig, germany. The players meet on a regular basis in various locations and tend to have plots that involve travelling to a lot of different places
in the city for quests etc.
There are a special events as well, the last one lasted 3 days and took place in an actual castle.
I dont know any in the states though and google turns up nothing
There is a website at http://www.traumschmiede.com/ for the local community, its in german though and i think they might rather not get slashdotted:)

If you combine that with one of those real-life Roleplaying games that use entire cities as
their playground, it might actually be fun to try.
I can almost see all the geeks bumping into each other...

that might replace the old truck stickers,
