...who have said that their speaker cable is designed to minimize "skin effect" have some science behind them. It has only take +20 years of this being touted as "science" in the speaker cable industry. Now there is some real science behind it.

..."When a stone is thrown into a lake, waves spread radially in all directions. A similar wave can be created by the electrons on a metal surface when they are disturbed, for instance, by light." Skin Effect
Seems like completely a different properties/behaviour, but, correct me if I'm wrong...
But you have to keep in mind that these facilities weren't designed to create anti-matter... I'm sure that these facilities can be modified/upgraded to produce anti-matter in a more efficient manner, maybe even increase production by several folds....
There was a format that was small and portable like cassettes: MiniDiscs. These things never really caught on outside of Japan/asia. They could carry 74 minutes of music, about 1/4 the size of a regular CD, and the optical disc was inside a "shell" for portability.
But with MP3 players now, you've got your SD, XD, memory stick, etc. that's way smaller in size compared to a cassette.
so when you're out of range of a cell tower, you'd have to scramble and find a cord to plug your phone into?
this might just be a way for the phone company to get you to subscribe to their wireless plan AND landline... when you're home with this hybrid phone, it'll connect to some home base-station and this base-station connects to a regular landline...
The thing with VCR is that when it first came out, there weren't any (or few) other options for people that wanted to record a tv show. But now, you have VHS, TiVo, DVDrecorders, multimedia PCs, bitTorrent, etc. The easiest and cheapest option right now, is still the VHS. All the other options, all the required hardware costs more than a cheap VCR.
What about using the same technology for a submarine or an underwater research facility? Instead of using scrubbers to clean the oxygen, a larger device can be used to "make" more oxygen...
I believe Hotz unlocked the iPhone itself to work with any SIM. What you've described seems to be hacking the SIM to work with the iPhone.

That's ok, if they run out of feline names, they can always follow /.'s scheme... OSX:Ponies...
