There would be a few as it does allow for some cross-compatibility. However not many do not make/use audio/video for stuff that needs a Word Document, we use other applications whether web or otherwise.
Open documents formats should have broader terms however.
Technology in schools is in desperate need of a re-think. The recent evolution in open-source, as well as many newly founded partnerships should help see a more powerful move in this sector, but is it powerful enough?
What I would like to see is these digital camera's becoming more intuitive, and seemless in use. I find that some of the digital cameras that people find themselves purchasing are too complex for them to understand. I met someone the otherday who is very quick when it comes to learning how to use something, however she still couldn't get the flash to work. Something that simple - whatever happened to the flash button??? It was replaced with too much. The user was required to enter "appropriate" light levels. What we need is a "simplistic" approach to cameras - much like what vodafone has done with their new simple phones.
HD DVD is not necessary for some awesome games, as you will see however - games will be release with 20 odd cds and we will have to change the cd every 2 minutes... So much for Mr Gates' "No Loading" future...
The force is strong in this one...
