Did somebody ever try to read a web page on a TV screen? Or type text? Or even read text?
This is dumb, unless Microsoft is hoping to sell something else, too...I got it! They must have some partnership with an optical company. First, screw up their eyes, and then sell glasses to them.
Sorry, I made a mistake, you should read "So to play games (such as the upcoming Mario Kart and Animal Crossing) over the internet, the DS needs to use WiFi"
Nintendo uses a proprietary protocol called NiFi, which is different from WiFi (802.11x).
But Software's the difference. Future Nintendo games will use Wi-Fi (that is, 802.11b) instead of NiFi. Why? Because you can't connect to a standard router with NiFi, only to another DS.
So to play games (such as the upcoming Mario Kart and Animal Crossing) over the internet, the DS needs to use NiFi.
The article, however, is about a home-made (unofficial) wi-fi implementation that will certainly be used by DSlinux and such programs.
When I was a kid, I thought that snakes were dangerous. I thought bears could come out and eat you in your home. Well, that's the way it should be, right? People being afraid of animals, tornados, earthquakes...
Now I realize that it's other people we should be afraid of. Other people who want us to act the way they want, or kill us if we don't cooperate. So to defend ourselves from them, we put expensive security devices in markets, subways and other crowded places.
How about pollution? Pollution kills more people than terrorists. How about smoking? People are afraid from terrorists, but they aren't afraid to smoke cigarettes, or breathe the polluted air that surrounds them, or even eat food with tons of additives and chemical stuff.
Doesn't anyone realise how screwed up this is? People are crazy, just plain crazy...
38 megs just so I could read a damn pdf. Sure, no big deal... kpdf, xpdf and the others put together don't need that much space. I can't wait to see how many gigs it eats up once uncompressed!
Sony used to make very good quality products at high prices. But nowadays they're just making low quality stuff for the same high prices. Korean companies like Samsung, LG etc. make good quality products at very reasonable prices. That's why people like me stopped buying Sony products. They suck and they're expensive too...Korean stuff rocks!
Yup, I hate Sony. They can't possibly think people would be stupid enough to buy this kind of crap? Oh sorry, people do buy Sony products. Because there's "Sony" written on the box...
I never understood why Microsoft released "critical updates" only every month. If they're critical, you're supposed to release a patch as soon as you hear about them. 48 hours is already too much, and a month represents a century in the IT universe...
If you're playing games, you're running Windows XP. Linux is great for specialized tasks such as number-crunching or programming, or miscellaneous work, but as bad as Windows XP's color management is, it's still better than Linux.
The Taïwanese company X-Micro responded to the letter, and said they didn't know about the GPL licence restrictions...
Wow, they can make hardware, but they can't read a licence agreement.
Well, buddy, I'm just saying MS made fun of its customers for years now. And today they're suddenly saying thay they are nice people, and actually make nice products.
YOUR post, however, IS useless!
Sans rancune!
I believe it's way they've been way too far to forgive them.
Ever since Windows 98, I understood Microsoft was making fun of us. So I went to Linux...and I didn't go back!
This is already done with Graphing calculators (See TI's models), but I'm waiting to be able to put new programs on my cell phone, digital camera, PS2, Xbox or to be able to listen to my ogg music, or to change its general behavior, or...why not install linux?
But no. Those companies don't want you to. You want a phone that can read mp3 or ogg, you pay 300 more bucks. You want to synchronise your cell phone with Evolution, you buy a PDA. You want to read DivX movies on your digital camera, uh-uh. Buy our brand new 600 dollar product. It's all about profit and sales.
I sure hope things'll change!
Hey buddy, I have a handicapped friend who's on a wheelchair. He was a victim of a car accident. He can still move his hands pretty well, but his fingers don't move as good as when he was "normal". He has trouble writing, and also has lots of problems using his cell phone.
Of course voice recognition is good too but hey, he still has to press a button to use it.
I'm no dipshit, this is for SOME handicapped people, not all of them. Be insightful, will ya!
Two words: handicapped people. Some people can't type on those classic keypads. Now they can make simple hand gestures to call somebody.
For the rest of us, it's just another phone with totally useless features.
N-gage really is a bad gaming console. Bad battery life, bad graphics (compared to the GBA), very expensive games (50 euros is way too much for a Tomb Raider port...), and the ergonomy sucks too (try playing an hour with that thing...)
What can I say, you make a bad product, people don't buy it and people don't care about it.
In Europe, an SMS costs approximately 10 cts. Kids send about 10-15 messages a day. And love downloading crappy 3 ringtones. A real song costs 1. You don't need to be Einstein to realise how expensive it gets. Where's the problem?!
The cost of these thingies. It has a minimal(non-existant?) cost for the operator, but they make you pay a fortune for 'em. Many associations pointed this out, but hey, it's easy money. Kids aren't to blame.

Cosmic radiation isn't that bad, look at me...

On page 4, he talks about optimising IE, changing the cache size and stuff... But what kind of "professional" uses IE? Houston, we have a problem...

Yeah, this is a pretty "trollesque" topic ;)
I smell "fuck windows" hate messages...
