Homosexuals have the right to get married - just not to each other because its nonsensical. They can't make babies and their sex acts are filthy, and contrary to nature and basic of anatomy. It's not a superstition that you can't eat a hot dog with your nose. Homosexuals dont really want to be married as much as they hate not being able to. They are desperate to pretend their peccadillos are "normal" and want to force it on society via the courts. In places they get allowed to get married they lose interest.
Think of it - for 50 years we been told marriage is just a bit of paper (or a superstition again maybe?) and the left has been eradicating it and the family while having governemnt in charge of the problems it creates (called "hurt and rescue"). Now all of a sudden marriage is important to them - but only for homos. It's another step down in social decay and not a rise up in civil rights. Man so much brainwashing at/."But yeah, clearly it's us liberals that make a huge issue out of gay marriage"
Yes - and intellectuals are the easiest to hypnotise and they can be made to think "yes - the Emperor has clothes" when he doesn't.
Your probably good egg at heart though so thanks for reply ; )
Hah - politicians won't deal with rampant border jumpers who break in for benefits and bankrupt hospitals but they sure go after those fats! And all this while we have DVD players showing Snow white in the front seat of the SUV while people are emant to be driving. We live in a time of growing insanity where huge issues get ignored and trifles are pursued with great alacrity. New York Times said 1 in 7 people in NY state will get diabetes. Bread and carbs are doing more harm than these fats.

I agree for the most part. I don't even like Bush that much. It never made sense to me to have war in Iraq while the borders are left open for anyone to wander over. The Republicans became self interested and weak. They cave in to the Lefts irrationality way too often. Congress reminds me of a dysfunctional home where a bitter, willful and irrational Mom drives everyone crazy with guilt trips while a whipped Dad sits quietly in the background hoping not to get in trouble.
The Republicans have a sort of false, plastic virtue - but they have the right direction a lot of the time at least. The Democrats however are hate based and they obtain a false virtue by trying to hate things they think are bad. Odd thing is a good person "feels" bad to a lot of spiritual crimianls just like a cop makes criminals feel bad. A lot of liberal sorts come from families where they resented their parents and they tend to transfer the hatred of a parent toward another authority figure (a safe one). The people with great hatred of Bush generally hated a parent (or someone who abused them) first and they could never resolve that so they project it. Now I didn't like Clinton but I didn't hate him so that's the difference. I mean look at almost any a "peace" protest. So many of that crowd are overtly psychotic.
Secretly these people LOVE Bush's mistakes (real or imagined) because they get to FEEL superior. They acquire a compensatory identity via their judgements (a female trait btw. "2. Intel Core 2 Duo
Where is the innovation here? The Intel Core 2 Duo is merely two CPUs on a single chip. Duo is neither the first 64bit processor, nor does it share resources between cores, nor does it have an onboard RAM controller. for all the above look to AMD's CPUs."
Well, the cheap C2D did rout AMD's 4X more expensibve heavyweight by a 3rd on just about every meaningful index. It did so at lower energy consumption. That's a lot of innovation (except to the AMD fans who just can't admit it)
Well it's becoming more evident everyday that many corporations, politicians and media sorts see people in markets as not much more that cultured bacteria in a dish. They give you a marginal amount of satisfaction and then stick you in the eye hoping in the end you will be just one more percent more satisfied than less and so they keep you in orbit that way while they move on to the next triangulation.
I bought a highly rated Dell 2007WFP last month and it turned out Dell was now making that model with a whole new panel without telling anyone. A 8 bit S-IPS was replaced with a junky 6 Bit S-PVA. It's a very different monitor now. Dell pretty much shows it has contempt for customers and Microsoft is the same. You get a few nice new features (some not ripped off from Apple) and then you get spanked and are told its for your own good (or somebody's).
I only cut Microsoft some slack because other parasites try to bleed Microsoft non-stop. When all the big players get done wrestling each other the little people not trampled yet get the chance to overpay for some compromised item that's more sizzle than steak. Vista will be ok - good enough to use. But it will kcik you in the balls all the time just to remind you that you are an extension of your computer (and those that run it) and not vice versa.
Now I will try to watch the game on television. They still show some of the action in between endless commercials that scream at you.
Amen to all that. I swear the more time and effort they out into all the effects the phonier the movie looks. I also think after all the money gets spent on those effects directors are reluctant to cut them out. I remember watching "Titanic" and realising that 15 or 20 minutes of the film showing lower deck activities on the sinking ship not only didn't add much to the film it was a void. I see a lot of extra minutes in films that don't add anything. I can't even go to effects heavy films anymore. They are like sparkly lights for dull people. I think "Donnie Darko" took around 3 or 4 million to make. Imagine if they had spent 150 million on it. The soul would have ben sucked right out of the movie with excess garbage.
I don't think your familiar with pharmaceutical studies. The drug companies pay for "independent" academic research and pretty much get the results they want. This is why congress and the FDA have had to back-track and issue warning on drugs already declared "safe". We just got another this week. The corruption can be hard to find on the surface. When prozac was studied for teen saftey the kids who suffered the worst side effects during "Activation" had to drop out of the study they weren't even counted in end results. A lot of scientists and universities aren't independent at all. Corporate money is behind a lot of "research" these days and its easy to see a lot of "research" has been created just to serve as marketing - it's a facade. The academicians, politicians and corporations often change hats. The university researcher who plays nice gets the corporate or political appointment. Bad science is everywhere. They hardly try to even hide it anymore.
That was just a Marxist software speech - nothing new in it. It's the same psedo virtuous template that gets applied to other things.
"this is a moving speech because Moglen is not talking about software licensing as much as a multi-generational movement for social justice that many of my closest friends care deeply about despite their having very little knowledge of technology. As the lecture unfolds, Moglen's commentary invoked memories for me of Martin Luther King's speeches."
Wha....? So people with "little knowledge" of technology now "care deeply" about the social justice of software liscensing? The reason they care is because they are shallow and suggestible. A lot fo people have no real virtue these days so they are easy prey for rhetoric that sounds "sorta" noble but has no root in reality. A lot of these "ivory tower" sorts who buy into this rubbish are already guilt ridden and prone to self loathing.
"If we know that what we are trying to do is build an economy of sharing which will rival the economies of ownership at every point where they directly compete; If we know that we are doing this as an alternative to coercive redistribution, that we have a third way in our hands for dealing with long and deep problems of human injustice"
Human injustice is due to character flaws and spiritual emptiness(ego pride selfishness etc) and Marxism always wants to hide that fact behind superficial economics. It's like saying "People aren't bad it's their choices that are bad so we will just have to make sure there are no options". These sorts are guilty of what they accuse others (capitalists) of being. Marx did once say "accuse others of what you do".
The term "miltia" was originally used to describe the body of citizenry eligible to use a weapon for the nations protection. It's usage was simliar to modern usage of the term "electorate" - or anyone who can vote. Words change meaning over time. Being called "ambitious" used to be an insult because it meant a person would do anything to get ahead (think of "ambi" as in ambidextrous"). An ambitious person saw any route as an equal one. Today people use it to mean "industrious". The term "militia" didn't mean an offical army in any discrete sense.
We have a nuclear power plant 2 miles away from where I sit. A lot of people want to close it down. But many of the same people dont want to see new power plants built either. There's something unreal or even psychotic about the way people measure these situations.
People now want gigantic TV's and computers with dual video cards and they want the AC going on while they are out etc. I could see where residential electric usage would be growing a lot.
Yes it does. I go to a couple of forums that get hit with a lot of people in the evening hours. The worst forum for the hanging effect runs dotNetBB v2.42EC SP3. Its a teen psychology in the UK site that get a million hits every couple days. Needing to use the task manager doesn't happen often. Maybe once a week I click the firfox shortcut and nothing happens. I can click several more times and nothing happens. If I then open the task manager I can see Firefox listed under "proceses". If I shut if off in task manager I will then be able to open Firefox using shortcut. I don't think the task manger issue is related to the forum.
I agree the Zune sounds awaful - but not because of the "squirting". Kids love, love, love, to send each other music. I hope the Zune flunks, but I expect the term "squirting" will become large in the pop cultural lexicon.
I uses Firefox a lot and like it. That said, I never understood why it hangs-up so easily in forums I go to. I often have to shut it down because it's hanging, and when I go to restart it I have to use the task manager first to shut it off from there because it will still be running despite having been shut down. I could list a lot of things I like about Firefox, and there aren't many I don't like, but for 2 years I have had to use the task manager to control this browser and it keeps me from recommending it to other people.
The vast majority of them broke in so that/s a moot point right there concerning their law abiding status. Then many of them drive with NO license and NO insurance. They run businesses using their newly arrived relatives and pay NO Taxes and have NO health or disability insurance. This is why the local property taxes have gone sky high and still the teaching hospital is on the verge of bankruptcy. Senior citizens have a hard time keeping houses while school taxes mount to have special ed and bi lingual classes and services.

No. They didn't support her or condemn her. She became an artifact as far as story went. Another woman near-by was also raped and murdered by a painter from Guatamala during the same weeks and it all faded to gray as far as McPaper was concerned. Instead Gannett went "rah rah" illegals. Six guys got arrested for trespassing near school and were at risk for deportation since they had records. Gannett started running stories about emo kids being set up by their parents to run "bake sales" for the illegals lawyer costs. Oddly the lawyers actually went ballistic saying they made the clients plight all the worse and they refused the money.
Gannett already gave up doing its own news for the most part. We have a Gannett paper here and its full of recycled stuff. I read about things online and a week latter it shows up in Gannett as "news".
The "local" section is called "Your World" and it hardly has much local about it. I recently read about workers in Chile in that section. I gave up on it for the most part and never buy it. Most people who get it do so for the high school sports and obits. The rest is agit-prop with boo-hoo sob stories about illegals "suffering" every other day.
One kid working a deli got killed by an illegal after he raped her. Parents then protested the daily gathering of 200 plus men a couple blocks from their elementary school. Of course Gannett ran one weepy sob story after another story trying to guilt trip everyone into loving their illegals.
Another great story was about the new urban fashion "statement" of wearing 'grills" - the awful metal plates and fishooks kids wear on their front teeth. I think its pretty racist Gannett promotes such buffoonish style as legit. But this is how low they have sunk.
That's why Gannett is doing so poorly. Its McPapper doing McAgitProp with the only "fresh" news about dead people. This latest move is desperate. They gave up journalism a long time ago but pretended to have it with streams of agit-prop.
