I sincerely hope that Mr. Jackson was joking. While correct spelling is not absolutely necessary for communication to occur, it certainly speeds up communication and helps prevent misunderstanding. As it was, I had to pause and think for a while to figure out what was meant by "sheek".
Sad but true. Most managers I've worked for as an engineer have no clue what their employees are actually doing, so kissing up to the boss and being perceived as their "friend" counts for a lot more than actual productivity.
Economics in a global age isn't about dividing up the current pie, it is about making new pies by farming out the baking to the country with the lowest labor costs.
Well, in the first place, "bitches" are no longer considered property. And most "bitches" tend to insist on an exclusivity contract before giving up the coochy.
I don't believe in absolute morality, but I do believe in contractual morality. Marriage constitutes an implicit social contract. Unless your spouse specifically gives you permission to sleep with other people, you are violating that contract by doing so. Likewise, marrying someone is a violation of contractual morality. If your spouse doesn't have a problem with you getting some skank on the side (and you don't bring home any diseases) then I don't see it as immoral. That doesn't mean you are free to do whatever you want; as a society we form a consensus that some actions are harmful and form a societal contract outlawing those actions.
Abortion is different. The basis of law is the axiom "Do no harm". Many people have a realistic belief that abortion does harm, thus the government has a responsibility to regulate it in the same way they have a responsibility to regulate murder.
Care to explain the mechanism that determines whether one is left handed or right handed? Just because you can't explain exactly why a phenomena occurs doesn't mean the phenomena does not exist.
Agreed, people are capable of making a conscious choice not to engage in specific sex acts, regardless of whether they are heterosexual or homosexual. But I don't believe they are capable of making a conscious choice to not be attracted to someone. And yes, to a certain extent sexual response is learned behavior, but not to the extent of whether you prefer men or women.
Failing to separate the legal definition of marriage from the religious definition of marriage was one of the mistakes our founding fathers made. It should have been a logical conclusion given the principle of separation of church and state. Fortunately, they set up a system wherein their mistakes can be fixed, unlike religions.
He violated an implied contract. It would be better if the marriage contract explicitly spelled out liquidated damages for infidelity, but it is certainly grounds for divorce. No, I'm not sure why this needs to be a criminal matter either, other than that law enforcement has a lot more power to investigate than a spouse does.
"But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn." is 1 Corinthians 7:9, not 5:7. Why yes, I am anal-retentive... why do you ask?
This specific case wasn't polygamy, it was bigamy, which is breech of an implied contract. I don't see a problem with consensual polygamy (my late father in law had a dozen wives). But when you're marrying off teenagers in arranged marriages to 50 year olds, I don't think that meets the "consensual" criteria. Also, the anecdotal evidence I've been told by people who lived in polygamous societies shows that polygamous marriages never work very well; multiple wives simply do not get along with each other.
Well, if they can be condemned to eternal damnation by virtue of being born in someplace that has never even heard of Jesus, then I don't see a problem with them being condemned by virtue of being born preferring men to women!
If homosexuality is a conscious choice, it follows that heterosexuality is also a conscious choice. Now, I'm straight, and I'm pretty sure there is no way I could choose to be homosexual. There is pretty much no way I could choose to have sex with another man -- they simply don't turn me on. (I'm not even that disgusted by gay porn; it simply doesn't do anything for me.)
Only transparent at certain frequencies, e.g. the frequencies of visible light.

Absolutely... there are still millions of people with 8-track players in their dashboard!
Well, except for that fact that they offered us a contract plan that was lower priced than the contract-free plan, yes.

"sheek"?!?
I think you mean "chic". (It's French.)

FTFY.
Bigamy != Polygamy

More like "The La Brea Tar Pits", which translates to "The The Tar Tar Pits".

They've got nothing compared to the Church of Scientology, which keeps a record of what was discussed in every "auditing" session.

Homosexuality is only a "preference" for bisexuals.
Live and let live. The disgusting acts performed by heterosexual couples are actually necessary for the perpetuation of the species.
