Since Opera's existence, it has been the lightest and fastest browser. It had all the features current browsers has except for ie, tabbed browsing, themes, popblock, gestures..
Only reason it didnt win the popular vote was the past free-version had banners, and also the lack of ActiveX support. Opera is still faster than Firefox. Opera would be on top if it had ActiveX support and dropped the banners from the getgo.
Don't forget you're all slaves to ActiveX
