I've been looking at this stuff from afar - so please forgive me if this has been written somewhere on this topic (I couldnt find it)...
I think a VideoPod would be used to transport your VideoPodCasts from your Mac to a portable storage device that could plug into your TV. ie a TIVO-like Apple device.
You probably will be able to watch 'em on the VideoPod itself - but it wouldn't be the only way to watch these files.
Of course it would still be a music player... a place to store your photos - a place for your ClickStar movies... but also would allow you to choose which TV shows you wanted to watch in your own time.
I have a G5 iMac, with over 100GB available on the hard drive.
It has a grand total of 218 songs on it (iTunes) - and my most used playlist has 93 songs.
I love my music... but I pick and choose which songs I load onto my machine.
I use iTunes as an alternative to the radio. In fact now that I really think about it, this is the way I have always listened to music - either skip the song you dont want - or listen to an album all the way through.
I think the shuffle is perfect:
* it is cheap for a 512 MB flash drive (<$150 AUD) * i can use it as a flash drive and music player * it is made by apple and so will actually Plug and Play * plays music the way i listen to music * its tiny
You don't need to be a jogger to want one of these. Not everyone needs 4+ GB of storage on their portable music player.
