There is very little chance for harm to living cr4eaters during a reversal. The magnetic field of the Earth is only part of our pretction form the Sun's rays. The atmosphere itself sheilds most of the radiation we get, it is as effective as a 13 foot thick wall of concrete. So animals that use the magnetic fild for navigation may be in a bit of a spot though.
How many pole reversal do we average in a million years? 4 or 5
How many mass extinctions do we have in the HISTORY of the Earth? 5.
So, unless the Dinosaurs died out when Homo erectus walked the Earth, I doubt that
that we will have any problems will mass surface extinctions.
I think you are off mark here. You are talking about the Latin Church, what became after the Reformation, the Catholic Church. To say it was christianity that "stilfed 'Galileo'" would bring in the Greek Orthodox Church, if you are talking about christianity as an institution, you would be wrong. As it goes now christianity has more diverse and numerous sects than I and most americans have ever heard of. They're have always be off shoots from the Latin Church, and yes they were for the most part declared heretics. As for madern christianity as a whole is changing and growing like any other aspect of modern sociaty.
On a less karmatic note you seem to have you own predjudices against organized religon, and your statements show that you can only see that which supports you already formed hypothesis.
What about the ISPs. I mean, in many parts of the country you only have one choice if you want high-speed internet. What if they decide that it is immoral to go to such site. Like AOL, or an even better yet Blockbuster. It is mormon owned, and thus they do not sell smut on a moral stand against it. But, the thing is local stores can't compete them, so they close, and you lose access to such information without your consent to have it removed. If an ISP felt the need, they could just remove access to the domain. (remember when that Canadian ISP banned the sites protesting it.)
Yes, MTV is the horny teen poser network. But, G4 is the horney poser network for teens who like video games. Besides once they got rid of the talent they wouldn't scare away the kiddies with all that Tech Tv mumbo jumbo. "OH no, we fear anything that isn't plug and play!!"
With Vonage partnering with American tower(a nation wide wimax provider) I can see one huge new market Vonage will hit after a successful IPO. Broadband cellphone service. No more problems steaming video to the handset, more ability for the network to handle a greater load of calls, and internet without the horrid extra charges(maybe). This is something that I have been intrested in for a while. With wimax being put in to Intel's mobile tech for 2006 you have to see the day of driving cross country with out loosing broadband connectivity is at hand. I will continue to watch the situation intently. (Though, I will admit/. makes it easier to do.)
Cheers
After reading this opinion column I see more frustration in British glory, and distaste with a politcal leader, than lose of American edge. The fun part about this article is that it reminds me a of that people often only see in thing that which they had already believed.
You have a secure pda, thats great. Let's say a gov employ (possibly from homeland sec.) takes the train/subway/airplane home and the pda slips out of his pocket.(I have lost enough cellphones this way.) Now you have a goverment information, stored passwords, encryption keys sitting there for the less scrupulous of us to scoup up. At least laptop cases are harder to forget.
As I recall from the beginings of BT, it was widely used as a means to distribute Linux distros, and the apps that would be used by them. But wait I don't have to think that far back. It is currently the top method for getting your new distro out there. As for this reporter's tone, it is merely a reflection of what community he chooses to examine using torrents, and as so the masses which he dis/informs.
THe Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy defines the RIAA as "a bunch of mindless jerks who'll be the first against the wall when the revolution comes," with a footnote that the editors are accepting applications for a new music correspondant.
Curiously enough, an edition of the Encyclopedia Galactica that had the good fortune to fall through a time warp from a thousand years in the futrue defines the RIAA as "a bunch of mindles jerks who were the first against the wall when the revolution came.":)
You can't just say it was the Republicans, like this was yet another congressional unilateral move. This bill was voted for heavily on both sides of the isle. It was co-sponsoured by Democrats Sen. Diana Fienstein and Sen. John Cornyn. I guess it comes down to an industry with the capital to buy votes, *cough* I mean contribute to re-election campaigns, to push it's agenda. Sigh, the system does work, but for whom?
Lucky for a few of us, I hear the Dentrassi cooks like nothing better than to annoy the Vogons.
But, then again how many us have a electronic sub-etha signaling device?
Other than myself of course.
