IMHO We (Linux geeks) have a real opportunity to be the first to define and develop some useful GNU remote groupware tools.
IMHO Most current groupware is brain-dead copycat sorts of things.
I've got a few new ideas myself. I bet you do too. Linux is getting easy enough to code for that I bet with only a little effort we could redfine and implement the way remote work is done. IT COULD BE really useful and intuitive for all parties.
I could have a tube with a subscreen for each client/customer that becomes active when any of the group needs to communicate with whomever in whatever form..... Real time.... You get the idea.
AFAIK there is no 'NETWORK REDIRECTOR' or equivalent for FreeDOS at all.
Please comment on what effort(s) you see as needed to NFS network a FreeDOS machine. (I'd be happy to give whatever help I can to get this done.)
BTW- I am doing this with M$DOS and XFS, but AFAIK there is NO WAY to network FreeDOS and get a 'drive letter' which connects to a networked machine or to send LPT1: stuff to a remote printer.
IMHO We need some GOOD TOOLS so any of us can clearly see what is happening on the line. Then we can quickly respond to whatever new 'features' we discover from whomever. i.e.- LET'S WRITE a good GNU html, etc. oriented software protocol analyser. To find out what's happening we just monitor the conversation with whatever browser is of interest. Then it would be simple for any of us to add a smart filter, etc.in series with whatever browser we choose to use. BTW - I still prefer 'red baron':). Isn't this what the microsoft lawsuit was supposed to be about ?
Way Cool! How about the penguin in the foreground surrounded by free (gnu) stones of various distributions of Linux and free (gnu) quality applications (gimp, etc.) slinging a copy of linux at the various hardware and software vendors who surround a goliath sized Microsoft, covered with ugly bugs being hit and falling down. Just what came into my mind:).

Can you give a link for SHUCDX ?
It might help network redirector effort.
Thanks
I have heard it is possible to network using some of the novell stuff.
Is there any kind of HOW TO available?

I wonder how many persons would CHOOSE to spend
their tax $$ to support OSHA?
HELP PLEASE.....
I REALIZE THIS IS SOMEWHAT OFF TOPIC.
A FRIEND ASKED HOW TO CHANGE MOUSE DOUBLE-CLICK TIME ON X.
I CAN FIND IT FOR GPM. IS THIS THE WAY TO CHANGE IT UNDER X ? I AM GUESSING IT IS NOT, BUT CAN'T FIND ANY REAL INFORMATION AS TO HOW TO DO IT.
I too vote for Red Baron.
It is still my favorite all time browser next to lynx.
I wonder if Red Hat would release its sources?
