Honestly the only useful thing about Craigslist in my opinion is the musicians board. Everything else is so polluted with scams, but the musicians board is actually useful. I found the singer and bassist for my band there, for example.:p
About the 300 meg thing you mentioned - I haven't really seen this answered anywhere. If I switch out my first generation iPhone with the new 3G one, does anyone know if AT&T will force me out of my unlimited data plan?
Somewhat off topic, I had to deal with a guy on a forum I ran who fell into category C there, "is able and prefers to" with regards to polyamorous relationships, and I swear he was the most pretentious asshole ever. He was utterly convinced that anyone who wasn't comfortable with that was emotionally immature, unenlightened, and needed to grow up, and he'd engage in endless debates about it.
The guy tried at one point to convince me to cheat on my fiancee with my ex, which earned him a big "No, I'm not an asshole, fuck you very much." That was the last I heard from him. I honestly hope his pretentiousness comes to bite him in the ass when his girlfriend who he "loves more than the world" leaves him for another guy who actually can commit to her and her only.
Enlightenment is just an excuse to be a pretentious ass in my opinion.
Uh, he's taking a crack at idiotic job ads that require, to use his example, 5 years of experience in Vista, which came out just about a year and a half ago. It's impossible to have 5 years of experience with a product that is less than two years old.
About 10-15 seconds after login it's good to go. It's a fairly stripped down and pretty damn powerful pro audio workstation I put together. I don't have any tray apps/etc running or anything that'd bog down post-login loading.
The laptops are a slightly different story, but in total including post login all three of them are about a minute from power button to working usable desktop.
What's that have to do with a Vista workstation taking 28 minutes to boot though? Originally the discussion was about a Vista workstation, not about AD/Exchange servers.
28 minutes? I've got three brand new machines running Vista and they take about 45 seconds tops from power on to login, that includes POST. Two are laptops, one's an extremely powerful audio workstation which takes about 20 seconds. You're either doing something extremely wrong, or you're lying about them being brand new and are trying to boot it up on a 486dx with 4 megs of RAM.
All of the university machines have full drive encryption on them using, you guessed it, TrueCrypt. The drives will look like garbage to anyone who sees them.
The data put on our tapes is fully encrypted, and on top of that encoded with wtfever our tape backup system uses.
"IT Security has been asked that all departments and schools verify that all backup tapes being sent offsite are encrypted. Tapes being kept within the University must be stored in a secure location, if they are not encrypted. If any unencrypted tapes have been sent offsite, please contact IT Security or myself."
I've said it twice now, just figure I'll reply to people here. TFA is incorrect, our tapes are encrypted, not encoded.
I work for the University of Miami. These tapes will be entirely useless to anyone who snags them, and no, we haven't stopped off-site shipping. All of our off-site tapes are highly encrypted. We aren't idiots.
On top of that, on the older laptops the highest resolution you'd be likely to see is 1600x1200, now you see 1920x1200. That's a decrease in screen real estate how?
You'd be incredibly surprised what I can do with that amp. The Spider series and such are total crap, but ask anyone who uses a Vetta (Michael Romeo? MÃ¥rten HagstrÃm? Both in fairly big name bands for their genres.) and they'll agree.
There was a point where I totally scoffed at every digital modeler, but then I decided to toy with a Vetta, and unlike most people who spend 5 minutes playing with the Line 6 presets, which sound like total ass I might add. I took an hour and tweaked it to my liking.
I've had people who own Mesa Mark IVs tell me my tone's better than theirs. I've had people at shows ask me what I'm playing - I stick my amp behind my cabs, which are unlabeled. When I say it's a Vetta they gawk in disbelief.
It's all about knowing how to use your gear. If you haven't seriously sat down and used one and are just assuming based on the fact that it's a modeler, I suggest you give one a few hours and see what you can do. There are a few tricks needed to get it sounding great, but once you know what you're doing, it's wonderful.

Cthulhuware.
That's fucking awesome.

That's also a good point. :)
I only found one person saying Java is the best thing ever back in 2005. I don't count when they append a condition such as "in situation x."

Other than that there isn't much.

Read replies to post above. I've also myself tested it on a machine with ARD disabled. Works just fine.

Gets a whole new meaning now.
I just consider myself extremely lucky, because in other cases I've seen them take a while to boot, but my machines seem to be an exception.

You've got some bizarre machines/a bizarre setup. Active Directory takes a while to boot, but that's only on the servers in my experience.
*shrug*

I wonder how long this trend in this discussion will continue of most every post being its own post as opposed to replying to a previous post.
University of Miami partially runs one of the largest hospitals in Miami, Jackson Memorial.

Proper protocols are followed.

This is standard military grade encryption. I work for the school, I know how our backups work. TFA is incorrect.

Actually, I've also had a guy with a Herbert as well as a guy with a Mark IIc+ ask me how on earth I got the sound I have live.

There's only one place I use more expensive (Planet Waves) cables is from my guitar to my guitar amp.
;P
Also see above post about me having a retard moment with the whole multimeter thing.
