I own a video game store and the figures are true we only make $1 to $2 dollars on new systems. Actually in order to get the new hardware some distributors require us to purchase a bunch of crappy software just to get a system. When the PS2 slims came out in order to get some I had to buy a bunch of crappy Sony titles that we are still stuck with. That is why a lot of stores sell systems in bundles.

Its true stores only make $1 to $2 dollars off a new console. Most local video games store barely make anything off new games also. So what's wrong for them to make a profit off a used one? If you don't want your console you can trade it in for something you want. If there isn't anything you want you can give your console to charity. Good luck on making $95 dollars selling your PS2 on ebay after the ebay and paypal fees.
