Your best bet is to contact the legal department within your company. I checked into this once with my employer. They were not certain about their own policy, but said they were open to the idea. That is where I would start.
Its so ironic. The one thing their policy was clear on was that it was ok for us to consume open-source code.
I don't like Microsoft's products, but I think they have a right to sell them... and not have their intelectual property stolen (all arguments about where they stole it from originally aside:)
