And scientists would get more bang for the buck to replace the hubble than to send up a robot which would have a likelihood of failure.

Bittorrent was designed to just host large files to a large number of people using a distributed system.
It's the 'large number of people' thing which makes it bad for illegal file swapping.
If 100 file sharers can find illegal content easily, then so can the copyright holders of the illegally copied content.
If they want *privacy* with their fileswapping, then fileswappers should put a proxy function into a separate 'file swapper' client to allow you do download 'thru' another computer which would make tracking down the original user impossible... but a proxy function just increases the total sum of bandwidth used, which isn't what Bittorrent was designed to do.
I think the Linux Kernel is actually very complex.
If it were a simple Kernel, then my laptop would be able to boot the 2.4 kernel without having to send it -noscsi as a switch to prevent my old laptop from halting during system boot.
A lot of device dependent stuff is compiled INTO the kernel for linux.
It will be interesting to see what happens when the Cell chips come out.

People don't like to write drivers for old hardware, so don't expect people to madly rush to write drivers to support last years chipsets when THIS years chipsets are shiny and cool.

sucks if you don't have supported hardware
Basically throw away the 'install instructions' and go browse user forums of how to actually do it.
Using the defaults for partition sizes also didn't work under 9.0 when I tried it... again another case of 'read what other people have done' rather than follow the instructions.
So I won't be trying out 10...
:( Sigh.

Fast? The DL is only a paltry 150 Kilobytes per second. j/k
