if they are disposable, its a decent ratio... low in fact. Think about how many TRASH BAGS there are for each individual in the united states... just between me and my roomates (a rather poor statistical sample i admit) the ratio is like 30 to 1... Disposable lighters the ratio is about 2 to 1 (damn pyros), so i dont think its that far fetched.
looking at that picture of it unfolded, i dont see a battery anywhere in there. Granted it could be in/near the chip and the IC board is mostly screened by the keypad circuit layer, but I wasn't able to make out a battery position anywhere on the IC... that tends to detract from the realism--or at the very least the usefulness--if the battery is too small to see, then it probably cant hold much of a charge to power a transmitter like a cell phone for very long.
yeah, but the controller on the keyboard is basically just a ROM to sort out the keystrokes and send the scancode for the proper keycode to the PIC. Its a lot less complicated than doing high frequency circuits... dealing with interference on high freq circuits is not fun.
It really depends on how the shutoff is implemented... if they actually shutoff the full bandwidth signal, then you are SOL, but if they are just broadcasting some shutoff bits, you can filter the signal input for those bits and block them out. Also, you may be able to do some sort of internal hacking to get it to not shut off, but from my perspective thats some pretty heavy stuff...namely because they probably aren't going to be throwing the schematics to these boxes around very freely just to prevent stuff like that from being done. It is possible to reverse engineer something like that, but the time involved is crazy... more than i would have to contribute to something like that...
there really are a lack of good mecha games though... Battletech erm, mechwarrior is way too sim oriented, and shogo is just quake all over again... the transforming was a cool idea, but its really not all that helpful or noticable IMHO. That would be so cool to make a really good mecha game...
war in pocket was pretty good, but it really doesn't compare... it lacks the sheer intensity of Mplus, but really Mplus is based on ideas brought forth in gundam, so credit where credit is due, ne?
yeah, but there is just something very cool about mecha with swords that you can't quite catch with machineguns and rockets... but the pace and the realism of the MPlus fights is just stunning. The first time i watched it i rewound the tape and watched that first fight against the rogue zentrati like 10 times.
My dream is to be able to sit on the quad with a laptop and work on my online HW, yet be able to watch people play frisbee... Hopefully before i graduate...
I am glad to hear this bit of news. Frankly my interpretation of the first bit of news about them leaving the market was somewhat skeptical. based on the way I interpreted it, they were still in the market, just shifting their focus away from 3d and into more diverse markets such as TV cards, etc.
Up intil very recently I had been a long standing fan of 3dfx cards, I finally got a Matrox G400 and I really love it. I still think that my voodoo3 was better at 3d stuff than the matrox is, but neither of them really have a patch on the GeForce from what I have seen.
if you could HIT a modern tank... you need something along the lines of a laser guided copperhead (howitzer based anti-tank munition) to accomplish this.
i am a web designer--and i totally agree that IE is better in may respects--especially from my perspective ease of development. I write IE code in.5 hours, and spend the REST OF THE DAY writing the equivelant in netscape workarounds to get it to run.
