I have yet to find a mouse that competes with it. It's mechanism is so good it rarely gets clogged, and the clicks are still crisp even after 15 years.
The lack of any need for hokey PC-side software and data storage offered by it being a USB HD means it is much more versatile for me than the Zen (which my son has, and he curses the software constantly).
Hey, I was even able to do a full Mandrake install direct from the.iso files which I carry on my Archos!
I got the Archos Recorder 20 a few months ago, and found it great, except for a few niggles, like no keylock which meant it would turn off, pause etc unintentionally while in my pocket.
A few days ago I decided to give RockBox a go (extremely simple, non-destructive installation and removal) and it is fantastic.
Boots up way faster than the standard OS, has key lock, better volume control, better battery indication, less cluttered screen.
Sadly all too true. I just got a fix though, from the nice people at LEAP Broadband (http://www.leap.ie/) - 512K wireless at EURO 99/month with no usage restrictions.
Rolling out first of all in Dublin. Highly recommended!
Back when I cared, I used Terminator. Then I discovered tmux, and now I don't care.

The Archos Jukebox does exactly that. Just plug it in and mount it. Copy the files as you wish and off you go.

I too am a very satisfied Archos/Rockbox user.

In short, buy an Archos and load RockBox!!
