The big issue is that Voyager was an offshoot. Where Enterprise was the Prequel to the first Star-Trek show. They could have do some much about the initial exploration of space. And supposedly they did this. But they just totally blue it by turning into 14 year old boys with raging hormones.
For me Enterprise really wasn't StarTrek at all. Ok, maybe 3%. It was on of THE biggest StarTrek disappointments I've ever had.
It started out "OK" when went downhill FAST from there. It seems to me that the powers that be for the show WANTED to make it bad enough that it would be killed and they would never be asked for another StarTrek show in the future.
So much opportunity to be the Prequel to StarTrek. Instead it turned into a 14 year old hormone charged space show. All it was missing were G-string bikinis instead of the skin tight uniforms on the main female characters.
