My company made the decision to drop support for Win98 and took it on the chin in a big way. We figured that our customers were what you might consider upscale well-to-do individuals, not neccessarily tech savy but probably all running at least Win 2000. We've had a flood of support calls that's causing quite a bit of work for our help desk. Long story short might do well to querry a sample of your audience

Here I am sitting reading slashdot thinking that the jokes are over as it's well past noon (yah know it's bad luck for April fool's jokes past noon). But wait... it's only past noon in EST zone; we've got over 4 hours till some geek on a science vessel somewhere in the middle of the pacific frantically types out his post to Slashdot "gotta get in the last joke... gotta get in the last joke"

  5. Re:This is not about journalism or blogging on Judge Finds For Apple in ThinkSecret Case · · Score: 1

How is this not about journalism and blogging? Apple wants to know who passed on trade secrets to a website; said site isn't going to give said secrets as they say they're journalists. The judge has ruled that they aren't journalists and have to give up the info.

What I would like to know if this judge considers others in his proffession aren't actually judges just cause they work in traffic court?

Punitive damages? $25 in actual damages, $2000 in court costs (not sure about this number) and $147,975 in puninitive damages.

That sounds a little excessive to me!

Not sure how this is insightful. Parent's parent post mentions 'make' a market for clean energy. You know, make, as in it doesn't currently exist.
