How can Windows still be ahead? They are actually behind since their product is the primary reason there is a Spyware market. I have never installed spyware software on my Linux boxes simple because I don't get any... MSFT can't say that, load an O/S and start the stopwatch...
I use Mozilla as well and I can assure you that you will get spyware on your machine. I have been using Mozilla since it's creation and initial release. I still from time to time come across a new little spyware file that tries to move things around.
Bottomg line is don't trust any O/S that MSFT puts out to protect you. Always install all the tools; AV, AS, FW, and NAT... wait, why not switch pver to linux and use Mozilla there, that way we don't need any of this and I get more speed and flexability from my computer!!!
What product are you using that is better than MSFT's new tool. I have found that it cleans better than Ad-Ware and Spybot. I used to run both tools to clean up what the other could not, however since installing the MSFT product, I have only had t orun one.
My experience with SQLite though is that later if you want to migrate to another database, it is very cumbersome. I would up spend $10k just to have a DBA come in and move tables becasue I could not import SQLite into something like SQL or Oracle directly.
Ok, Microsoft in all their brilliant dreams claims to release fewer patches than Linux... Now let's even the playing field. Let's take a look at all the patches for the Linux O/S versus Win2k3, 0 vs 15. When we take a look at all the patches that MS deployed for all their products in cluding Office, IIS, and Win2k3 and the like and MS has a release of about 4 to 1 over Linux. I guess some people have a price tag on their credibility.
On another note, MS is on a monthly patch release schedule. How many months are in a year? What calendar are they looking at?

Finally someone who understands politics and what is really going on...
