Yeah this is yet another example of irresponsible production of goods and services. What would happen if we taxed the F! out of companies that produced products based on the ENTIRE PRODUCT LIFECYCLE including disposal and deprecation.

  3. Certificates on What's the Point of IT Certifications? · · Score: 1

I think at some point there is a marginal return in the domain of book smarts vs. actual job experience. From what I have experienced, having at least a few Certs on the Rez can get your "foot in the door" not to mention a few good references. Also Certs seem to help if you are moving into a new tech space or a new technology because the curriculum or test requirements seem to set the backdrop for "the top ten or twenty things you need to know about this topic". However, what I look for when I interview people is a standard of domain knowledge, but also I try and suss out their ability to reason, their ability to involve others when they get stuck. Let's face it most of us geeks can google and probably configure some scary new technology in a few days but team fit and a personality that is easy to work with is the biggest piece bar none. Nice if somehow we could have a Cert for that. Good Question! Cheers!

  4. Finding out if others are in your bandwidth shoes on Cell Phone Service as High Speed Internet Link? · · Score: 1

In the meantime, find out if anyone else near you is a tech-head and wants a phat connection. You might be surprised how many are in your shoes. Then it might be feasable to collectively approach the b-width issue by co-op or commune methods. Ask geeks from China... They are blazing neighborhood hotspots using that exact method because individually many do not have the $$ to do it alone. Usually areas have no or lo coverage due to a false perception of no demand.

  5. Due Diligence on More Holes Found in T-Mobile Website · · Score: 1

The bottom line is that a corporation T-Mobile or otherwise should perform due diligence to protect its customers from security threats. Period. Especially in terms of information involving personal information, and /or credit cards etc. T-Mobile and like companies should be compelled to pay its customers for each security breach. Hit them in the balance sheet.
