Smart is trying to sell in the US, and received Department of Transportation and EPA certifications months ago, but is currently blocked by CA state government. I wonder who could be behind that move?
This is what happens in a fascist government: corporations conspire with politicians to maintain profits at the public expense. Thank you, good night, and we don't care.
1 good reason to abandon MS: it is an addiction.
This means that people, often against their will, pay money to MS directly or indirectly. MS then uses a portion of that money to lobby in it's favor and stiffle competition, which reinforces the habit. Addictions are bad because they are anti-Democratic, and intrinsically opposed to freedom of capital, among other assets.
~ $85 BILLION is spent on IT between the federal and state government in the United States every year. How much of that money (OUR TAX DOLLARS!) goes to MS??
Every tax-paying citizen in the US is addicted to MS, and it is therefore in their best interests to abandon MS at every available opportunity.
Ayn Rand is rolling over in her grave. In fact, she sent me a letter from the other side. It read something to the effect of "... the cemetery in New York, at which I am buried, won't respect my property rights after 100 years. I only have 77 years to go before these irrational Communists destroy me!" Oh, Ayn... You can be so paranoid!
I chuckled, and then decided to take advantage of the recent Supreme Court ruling by opening a Victoria Secret on Ayn's grave site. As soon as construction is complete, every objectivist can fulfill his or her dream, of pursuing their interests with utter disregard for others, and simultaneously paying homage to the heroine of the only moral rationality: free trade.
BTW, Vitoria's Secret is owned by Limited Brands Corp, a model player in the realm of free trade transnationals.

There are several hundred millions of dollars worth of 'Americanized' Smart cars currently sitting in a California wharehouse, waiting for distribution by the company called ZAP: "ZAP has spent in excess of $10 million on this project and there are numerous jobs at stake." Some Smart cars were even ceremoniously donated to politicians.
