If you need additional software to deny your applications socket connections to the internet, you've got a compromised system on your hands. Running at the software level, these "firewalls" are susceptible to being subverted by the same software you're trying to stop.

I buy records because they're cheaper, they're better collector's items, the artwork is bigger and listening is more of an "event". I don't pretend that introducing more distortion increases the sound quality though.

I can pick up full albums on vinyl, for less than $10 direct from the label. I get a cooler listening experience and don't feel guilty downloading the tracks later for my MP3 player.

Let's put the blame for lobbying on the lawmakers who accept the money and then vote for laws that violate our rights. If big corn pays a guy to pass a law to give them an unfair advantage, the people who voted for it should spend 20 years in jail. Same goes for any law that gets overturned as unconstitutional.
