I only wish I had the mod points to give you for this one. However, there are is still a fairly wide variety of viruses that we aren't equiped to handle without vaccinations and the like, but all in all HIV is definitely a hell of a bastard. It stuns me to see the level of ignorance displayed regarding HIV at times. The treatment Ryan White recieved before his death was reprehensible due to ignorant shits. Testing of blood transfusions before that were basically unheard of. To this day I don't know if I am more disgusted by the homophobic bullshit or the mind boggling scientific ignorance that lead to the treatment he recieved.

Funny...most doctors call circumcision a health related choice not genital mutilation or religious freedom. But hey, don't let the piles of medical evidince cloud your reality. The pain and risk of complications arising from circumcision go up with age as well. Circumcision is not even remotely in the same ballpark of cutting off the clitoris or sewing the vagina shut and regardless of your choice for or against it you should feel ashamed for even putting the two in the same category of things.

Some pain as a baby that you don't remember in exchange for a lifetime of reduced risk of infection and reduced chance of losing the whole damned thing to cancer later in life? Seems a pretty fair trade to me.

And they have sued exactly how many companies for the use of all these patents? This is the same problem that came about because of nuclear weapons. You are forced to build more in case your enemies happen to build more than you, then everyone has to keep building until everyone has enough to destroy the world many times over. You say patenting other companies products, but if they really were other companies products wouldn't those companies have the patents first? Unless of course those other companies just cross licensed stuff for the use of those patents and Apple deemed their patents on those technologies more valuable as trading leverage rather than for building deliverable technology. Not that I defend this approach, I think it is a pretty horrid abuse of the system, but that is the way it is.

Now, I haven't read the actual patent on this, but it seems to be fairly legit. Apple is the first one to deliver the whole multitouch thing. The point of a patent is to reward the person who gets it done first with exclusive rights to it for a limited time. It makes innovation a race and encourages it. The only other thing even remotely similar I have seen is that godforsaken Microsoft Table video. When Microsoft actually manages to deliver a product that does what they claim it can do, let alone fancy vapor products that aren't even built yet...call me. No really...I would like to see it. When Apple announces their new fancy shmancy dodad they generally have on ready and waiting...when MS announces their fancy shmancy dodad you still generally have to wait 5 years until it is on the market in a usable state.

For comparison, the wackaloon left wingers do the same thing except with left wing propoganda crap.

Now...for evil right wing megacorps. Pretty simple again...The champions of doing business in areas where they can dump toxins or make use of nearly slave labor to lower business costs have been the Republican party. Now...go watch a few hours of TV and tell me how many of the products that you see were made in places like China in shitty conditions out of materials that were produced in India our South America by plants that can spew tremendous amounts of toxins in the air and water without anyone to stop them.

Not that the left wing is any better with their moronic carbon credit purchase program or shipping tons of food into starving countries under the guise of humanitarian aid. (Hint: Economics at play. Stupid farm subsidies cause overproduction of foodstuffs, these foodstuffs get dumped off for pennies on 3rd world nations as "aid" so that our economy doesn't suffer from the overproduction. In the mean time it undermines the local economy where the food goes because local farmers can never compete with cheap dumped food so the local warlord gets to control the land because the farmers are stuck living in squalor, everyone starts starving, and then increases the amount of excess foodstuff we can dump on them.)

So in a nutshell *winger isn't about people I disagree with. It is about the highly partisan politics and rhetoric rather than actually seeking REAL discussion and debate of existing problems. I will point out that an Eagle has two wings and the brain is in the center.
